Plus with the current rates shooting up getting any hardware will be difficult, as the likes of Bitmain won't want to sell before they've hammered every last satoshi out of them Wink

You will be surprised at how much people are buying mining gears for,saw a listing for S19 pro for $9500, even the old and almost obsolete mining gear (antiminer S9) goes for above $200 nowadays, absolutely insane prices, seems like 2017 all over again, and we all know what happened to those who paid $4000 for S9 in 2017, they didn't have a happy ending, so please think twice before paying 10 grands for a mining gear.

Yeah. prices are very high.

s9's single hash boards are going for over 100 usd!

I may list some of mine.

Now i have asked a friend of mine and it is 13.55 euro cents above 2500kwh , so that means in fact the price for kwh in dolars it is 0.012$. B

At that power rate, I would just forget about mining altogether.

... thank you for the s17 tip, but what do you sugest like equipment then?

MicroBt and Avalon gears are much more robust, also the 19 series (S19 and S19 pro) are of much better quality, basically, any gear you find will be better than those 17 series and the S9k, you can't buy a worse set of gears even if you intend to.

Not sure you can mine as 13.55 euro cents a kwatt is expensive.

In the winter I am 13.75 cents usd. and I get heat which lowers my winter price to 10-11 cents. a kwatt.

an s9 set to 10 th burning 800 watts comes to about 20 kwatts a day. or 20 x .11 = 2.20 usd

it earns 10 x .17 = 1.70

so 1.70 - 2.20 = - .50 usd a day.

if you are 13.55 euro cents that is around 17 usd cents

so 20 kwatts x 17 = $3.40

1.70- 3.40 = - 1.70   with a s9 80 watt a th miner.

the best gear i have is an s17pro it does

38.5 th at 980 watts. of all my s17pros it is the only one that is that efficient. it has vnish aftermarket firmware.

lets round this to 40 th at 1000 watts. no gear other than this is as efficient.

so 40 x .17 = 6.80 usd a day

24 x 1000 = 24 kwatts a day at 17 usd cents it is

4.08 usd a day.

6.80-4.08 = 2.72 daily profit using 25 watt a th gear.

as I said only one of my 17 s17 pros does this well.

If I were to sell it to you at my cost [not an offer]

I paid  840 usd to ship to norway it would be at least 160 is 1000 and vat is around 18%

that comes to 1180 usd or maybe 1200 usd. at 2.72 profit it takes just under 490 days to break even.

this is assuming I understand your power cost. as 13.55 euro cents.

Now you mention it is the price over 2500 kwatts.

what is the price under 2500 kwatts?

how much do you burn now?

the downclock s17pro i mention will use 720-750 kwatts a month.

if you have a better price under your 2500 kwatt ceiling say  6 euro pennies. and if you are burning 🥵

1000 kwatts you could justify 1 s17pro downclocked with vnish firmware.

as  the 6.80 usd - 2.00 usd = 4.80 a day profit. which means 225 days to breakeven.

Note all breakeven numbers assume
the gear does not break
difficulty rises  exactly as fast as price rises which keeps the 17 usd cent per th mining earnings steady.

So basically if you have really cheap power up to 2500 kwatts and you burn only 1500 kwatts you could make an investment for 1 s17pro set to downclock. on vnish aftermarket firmware..

So is your monthly power use under 1500 kwatts?
do you have 1000 spare kwatts?
how cheap is your power under the 2500 kwatt cap?

Now since this is the btc section and asics mine btc I can not give info on gpu mining.

The thread or my post will be deleted.

I would ask mods kindly to let me link the op to my gpu altcoin thread 🧵 which explains how to mine btc indirectly via gpus.

So the Kw in norway it cost like 0.3 øre ( it is like cents for norwegian crown ), and 1$=8.89 nok, so it is quite cheap the energy here.

Well according to google search:

Regarding the S9 here comes a problem : i have an apartament rented where i don't pay electricity,  and i want to invest in the beginning around 6k usd ( more or less) , to test out how much i can earn by buying some asic miners. I want to deposit them in the attic, becouse of the noise, and i have also 2 small childrens.

You are looking to add at least 6kw of energy consumption, that's 4,320 khw per month ( a lot of energy), not sure the landlord will be happy about this.

Anyway, if you decide to go on with the plan, try to avoid the 17 series from Bitmain, their quality is bad.

But in the beginning i want to see how much i can earn with an , let's say medium equipment.

And I think that i am pretty sure is that i cannot trust the mining profitability calculator to make an approximation on how much i can earn with an specific equipment, that is why i wanted to try my luck with an forum where people have some knowledge about mining Cheesy

The power cost it is around 0.02$ Kw, and ofcourse we have 230V Smiley

at 2 us pennies a kwatt you will make money.

Last I heard Norway has vat tax maybe 20%

So next question is how much of that wonderful 2 cent power do you have?

I ask because you are a candidate to get old school cheap s9 gear.

A s9 set to 10 th using aftermarket brains software burns about 780-800 watts.

.8 x 24 = 20 kwatts a day x 2 cents is 40 cent power cost

10 x 17 cents is 1.70 a day

so $1.70-.40= 1.30 a day or 39.00 usd a month.

thus buying s9 gear with a power supply for 125 usd which is doable .

this means the gear pays off in  3 months. as 125/39 = 3.1 months.

I suggest getting s9 gear running with braiins software at 10th or even july 2019 bitmain firmware at 10th

do this a week then clock up a bit to 11th
then clock up a bit to 12th

good luck.

ps

mikeywith a forum member runs a lot of gear like s9’s as he has cheap power.

My grandmother was from Olso. You wrote a polite post so I gave you a merit.
First question what does your power cost per k-watt  please use euro or usd.

Second question  do you have 220-240 volt power.

Hello guys, please be kindful with me, it is my first post here   Smiley

I have an issue and i am hoping for the some one with more experience to help me:
i would like to invest some money in mining Bitcoin, but first of all i don't know from where i can get the best deal for some ASIC miners, i was thinking to buy 2, 3 or 4 Antminer's in the beginning. My plan is to invest around 33-40k $ in this mining rig.

My questions are:

1.  where i can find the best deal for this miners
2. what miners should i start with S17+ 73Th, S17Pro or S17
3. What is the most profitable pool
4. Any ideea if i need to pay import taxes in Norway or any ideea if it is better to send them to Belgium, England or Romania to pay less import taxes for the equipment?

Thank you in advance and hope i will not be punished for my post
