Heres a link for USB hubs that will work:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2700634

If you mine with certain pools you can merge mine. For example BTC guild will mine bitcoin and namecoin for you at the same time.

Hmm which is the most profitable alt coin right now?
Also would 3.0 make a difference or no?

Not sure on the alt coins. Check around there are sites that show the exchange rate. Edit: http://dustcoin.com/mining

USB 3.0 hubs will often not work with the Pi which is USB 2.0 only.

You will need a powered USB 2.0 hub. The Dlink 7 port is a good choice for 5 eruptors.

You can mine sha256 alt coin.

Hi,

I wanted to buy a few block eruptors (Just to be a part of the community not for ROI) and was wondering what I need. Here are some things I know I need.

List
 - 5 x Block Eruptors
 - Raspberry Pi

EDIT: Also will I be able to mine (any) altcoin with block eruptors? If so, then which one(s)
