For mining, I'd usually recommend a card that uses the reference cooler and spits the hot air out the back of the case.

A lot of these custom coolers just keep the heat within the case itself and cards like this will probably overheat if you mine with more than one in a case since there's not much room for the heat to move.

+1 reference design rules.

i am partial to 6950s that are reference and unlocked to be 6970s. 500 khash/sec easy.

that's a very good card to mine with, BTC or LTC.
some say better then a 7970  Grin
need a goos power supply and some good fan cooling or open case or riser
