Ahh the Gridseed mini miners, I remember these when they came out. When you bought these you either made a killing if you were one of the first people to receive one or ended up at a loss since the LTC difficulty sky rocketed shortly after along with the huge price decline especially for alts.

I think these were like what? $250 or. $300 at their peak back in 2014? I remember they were very popular here on the bitcointalk classifieds. I think shortly after there was that KnCMiner LTC Scrypt ASIC cube released and the value quickly tanked.

I Bought three as LTC Diff rose =/ Managed to get 3 and a pi for $75 CAD though XD, But I like them for testing cause they mine both scrypt and sha256, Makes it a little safer to order that new used miner, If I get a coin off my 1.2mhz Scrypt (3 Combined) Then I know I can buy a better one that will atleast make something for trading while using it as a space heaters XD.

Thank you again for your guy's help/ info got the old buggers running again, Actually made 3 alt coins off them already LOL only 3cents but still, Time to bump up to a good few hundred mhz. =D

I figured it out for scrypt, Not what I was going for but they are working again, So it must be a software issue? Like BitMaxz said out of date maybe IDK, But this seems to have worked.

git clone  https://github.com/dtbartle/cgminer-gc3355.git
cd cgminer-gc3355
./configure CFLAGS="-O3" --enable-scrypt --enable-gridseed
make

./cgminer --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=850,chips=5,modules=1,usefifo=0,btc=16 --hotplug=0 -o stratum+tcp://127.0.0.1:3333  -u x -p x

I'm going to continue to try and get things to work with sha256, Thank you for that link about STMmicroelectronics, I started browsing and found some information that lead me to this version of cgminer.

This miner is too old but I heard that gridseed miners have some bugs like "no hashrate" or it doesn't show any "reported shares". It's a known bug according to them.

Have you tried to check them directly on the pool if it's mining or not?

Then according to this one post below you need to make sure that you installed the STMmicroelectronics virtual comm port driver. CPU miner won't work without it.

I can't even get one of my computers to mine properly with the GPU or CPU, Everything says they are all working (Gridseed mining at 12gh, GPU at 33mh and CPU at like 4kh/core) but nothing seems to be getting accepted or rejected. I have also checked on the pools and I have no hashrate coming through. I do have all the drivers installed and swapped over to winusb using zadig (https://zadig.akeo.ie/) I have had all of this working before, Just spent the past 3 days trying to figure this out again but everything I do comes up with the same issue. Could it be some router issue maybe? The best shares count on cgminer will go up, This is something I just noticed.

Hello, I have been working on getting my Gridseeds to start working again, I'm currently using cgminer 3.8.5 (offical Gridseed github version) I have also tried cpuminer and BFGminer on Windows 10, Rasperry pi and Ubuntu 18lts. I have also tried multiple pools and swapped around with LTC, and a few other alt coins (Sha256 and Scrypt) all with them same results. I can get them all to "Work" 12gh But they aren't "working" Nothing is being accepted or rejected.
