I have quit using such boards for building new rigs but before in 2016 I bought 4 Biostar Pro BTC 250 Gen 6 Intel and they are still running fine even my newest cards the Rx big navi and RTX 3000 series without problems, running 6 cards out of six,now they cost more but back when I bought them from Ebay their price was 90 USD plus 12 USD shipping to my country.

If I intend to start a new mining rig I don't do without this motherboard anymore with 6 x x16 Pciex slots, riserless motherboard from AsRock, link below,it cost 200-300 EUR depending where you find it but for 100 EUR more means 0 trouble running your rig compared to running it with risers. In local stores you can find it less than 200 EUR in Europe if you search enough so a really good option.

The Intel Chipset was released in Q1/2017, how you bought this BTC B250 boards in 2016?  Huh  Cheesy

I know you have hide me for some mysterious reasons - also funny  Cheesy

I bought some new AMD B450 boards for 39€ again  Grin all with 6 card support out of the box and some still running with 12GPU´s and some PCIe splitter.

In 2019 i get some ASRock H110 BTC for 25€ and some Asus Mining Master for 30€. Asrock release also the new Q270 BTC Board with 13x support https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Q270%20Pro%20BTC+/index.asp

Someone tried a board like this: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005002983414601.html?spm=a2g0o.search0304.0.0.7fcf3987F4khjz&algo_pvid=826f010c-6e8f-41e8-b022-5b3eb0c6e355&algo_exp_id=826f010c-6e8f-41e8-b022-5b3eb0c6e355-15

Maybe it was 2017 but I was mining since 2016 and maybe I confused them,in 2016 most probably I should have been mining with MSI 150 chipsets and they supported max of 5 cards back then but it is a long time ago.All I remember is that I bought the B250 Biostar cheap from ebay back then.My point is that they are running rock stable even after so many years of usage and they are powering now my main rig with Rx 6800 XT,Rx 5700 XT,RTX 3000 series 2 cards and 1 Gtx 1080 ti and no problems whatsoever except those Rx 6800 XT causing occasional crashes and I have not been able to find the cause in Windows, never tried Linux on them as I am not the sole owner of the rig.

I didn't have much trouble with raisers. For such a motherboard, you need to buy an additionally closed case, because video cards will have problems with cooling.
When a video card brings in 3-5 dollars a day, you can overpay 300 - 400 dollars for a farm, but when the profit is 3 times less, it is very expensive.

Is there any motherboard that's better than B250? Maybe it's because this is the only motherboard that gives me near zero headache, so far it's the best for me this can change maybe if I try other motherboards.

How about now, is there any verified info (first hand) if ASRock B450 PRO4 can work with 7 gpus?
Does any of two m2 slots even work with m2-pcie adapter at all? I have ryzen 3 without integrated graphics so i must use one gpu in main pcie x16 slot to boot., but even with only two gpus I cannot get the motherboard to detect other gpu in any of m2 slots. M2-pcie adapter works fine on biostar tb250, that motherboard use 7 gpus without problem.
I don't know why B450 wont see gpu in m2 in any configuration?!

Every week I see posts on mining forums that the motherboard does not detect 6 video cards. M2 ssd is installed in the photo, but do you really think that there were no attempts with a USB flash drive?
I agree that a motherboard with 6 connectors should work with 6 video cards or even 7 (via a m2 connector), but this does not always happen.

This board work with 6 GPU´s. Nearly every AMD board work with 6 cards. Why should it don´t work? Uninstall your M2 adapters and read the mainboard manual -> 2min search time and i found this for example

-> * If M2_1 is occupied, PCIE4 will be disabled.
Yeb thats in the mainboard manual for nearly every AMD board as you have written , and they still havnt fixed it for now also with newer Motherboards.
Got me an X570 Master and there is the same problem with the M2 connector that the PCIE4 will be disabled when you using there an M2.
Should be working with an normal SSD harddrive then you can use the 6 GPUs.

6 gpus should be no issue with right cpu on Pro4 board.  Will need to not use at least 1 M.2 as it disables a slot according to the manual.  So 7 maybe...but 6 should be no issue unless above 4G just not available.

This motherboard doesn't work with 6 graphics cards, so you need to use a pcie-4 USB adapter.
The reason is very difficult to find and I don't want to waste time on it.
Therefore, whoever has experience with such motherboards, do not forget to share it in this thread.

Send the board to me, i play around with some settings and send it back to you with settings for 6 cards  Cheesy

Asrock run fine with 6 cards.  Huh

MSI x470 Gaming plus max
MSI x470 Gaming plus
ASRock B450 Pro4
Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming

With m2 adapter to pcie, you can run more than 6 GPU´s on some boards.

Please write the models of these motherboards that have no problems with 6 video cards.
I will add these models in 1 post.
If you provide a link to the site, it will be even better.
I noticed problems with ASRock motherboards because they don't want to work with 5 or 6 graphics cards, although the motherboard has the option to install.

ASRock B450 PRO4 R2.0, SocketAM4, AMD B450, ATX, Ret
ASRock X370 PRO4
(Does not see more than 4 video cards, but you can use the pcie-4 USB adapter)

ASUS PRIME B450-PLUS
Gigabyte A520 AORUS ELITE
ASRock B450 Gaming K4
ASUS TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II
ASRock B450 STEEL LEGEND

then motherboards for 5-6 video cards, which now can be drunk without any problems in the store.
Anyone who has experience with these motherboards or angalogs, the main thing is that the price is not much more expensive than $ 100.

I buy my mainboards from mindfactory. They have very often bulk mainboards for 39€. Mostly AMD mainboards with 6 Pcie. At the end all AMD boards with 6 pcie run fine for me.
