I apologize if anyone takes offense to this, but Nvidia cards just aren't for mining anyway. If you're going to save up for another card, I suggest an ATI 5850 or 5870, excellent bang for your buck. I do use Nvidia cards myself, and while they work great for gaming or their 3d vision capability, I was disappointed to find out that they're garbage for mining. My GTX 560 with 1ghz overclock cannot manage 100 mhash/s without rediculously jacking up aggression.

It's not on the hardware comparison list: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_Hardware_Comparison
Are you sure it's OpenCL capable?

Ah dammit, indeed it doesn't.

I guess I have to make savings for a new card then.
Darn.

Hi,

I have a Linux system with onboard video (which is used for output) and I added an extra nvidia card (GeForce 7300GS).
It is a debian system and i installed all neccessary packages to be able to run poclbm.py
The user with which I run it has full access rights to /dev/nvidiactl and /dev/nvidia0
But if I then run it, I get:

bitcoin@weerstationserver:~/poclbm$ python poclbm.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "poclbm.py", line 26, in
    platforms = cl.get_platforms()
pyopencl.LogicError: clGetPlatformIDs failed: invalid/unknown error code

bitcoin@weerstationserver:~/poclbm$ lspci | grep VGA
