I would recommend using a pool and use either nemominer (for zpool only) or sniffdog (for zpool, ahashpool, mph, and hashrefinery) These collections of batch files will allow you to mine the most profitable coin at time. If you use sniffdog, get rid of the MPH pool setting in the startsniffin batch file, for simplicity. What to mine was a good site, but not so much anymore. It doesn't have many of the new coins, or new algos. Plus, it'll tell you to mine equihash, which wouldn't be the most profitable. Lately, the 1080s and 1080tis have had a lot of luck with myr-gr, x17 and c11 and can now even mine xevan. Tpruvot and alexis are the best for alt coins, except for ewbf, if going with equihash. I haven't,  however, tried tpruvots latest with equihash. His release notes state he improved equihash. Maybe it's better than ewbf.

I did exactly that. Edited that start bat file and kicked out MPH... never looked back

I bought Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti few days back for the purpose of mining only. I want to ask you people What coins i can mine on 1080 Ti with decent returns? and what is the best mining software for Nvidia, i am currently using CCminer 2.2.1 and mining verge (XVG).  Hoping for good answers. they are good at ZEC, I usually mine steadily for it, currently using EWBF 75% power limit and +38 Core Clock in MSI afterburner, I'm more keen on power saving over hashrates.

Pick one of the Equihash coins, i prefer Zencash. Dont go nicehash, to much fees.

I started on NiceHash when i got my Zotac 1070, in a month I made around £32.

Im now running sniffdog across 3 pools, mining multi-algo on profit switching, paying a nice amount higher than NiceHas.

My friends running 1080ti usually mine ZEC. It's good GPu for equihash algorithm.

nicehash is good option for beginners because it's easy to use.
But if you are advanced miner ( it seems to me you are ) then i recommend you to visit whattomine.com.

Generaly for nVidia the best are CUDA miners.
I have good experience with ccminer https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=770064 and claymore's dual miner https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/claymores-dual-ethereum-amdnvidia-gpu-miner-v150-windowslinux-1433925
