What is actually wrong with your account? Is it that your account is locked from withdrawing funds or is it that your account is able to withdraw but only to that address?

And it's very unlikely you'll get anything from this but 0.66 is worth attempting to recover.
Did you use any 2 facter authentication by any chance? That'll also contain your I'd and mobile number on and account you had and link it back to you.

Nothing is locked, but to get the verified payout I would have to change the payout address and lower the payout treshold. This changes made in the account would have to be verified by email(that I could not access), or (in case of changing the account email) by signing a wallet message with the payout address registered with the mining pool account, for which I dont have wallet or private key.

I did not use 2-factor auth.

Did you use the new wallet for anything related to it? If you made a deposit from it you might be able to sign that address instead and get them to unlock it. If not, you're coins will be as good as lost, don't expect anything back. Keep going with their support though.

Have you check if the domain name is open for sale? If it is you could set up your own mail under that address.
If the domain is not for sale, I'd start asking questions on how to obtain it.
Best of luck!

There won't be an easy fix to this. Does the email provider still own that domain? If  so, you could send them an email and ask if they'll temporarily give you your email address back (if it's say more than 1BTC that you've lost, I'm sure a company will happily accept $1000 just to give you an email address for a day (depending on how the company functions though of course and the reason they gave up on hosting email address servces to start with.

Are you sure you never backed up your wallet? No external hard drive or flash drive that you had that was small that you though, hey why not put this on here as a spare copy.

Also, does the email have you name in it, ask them if there's anything they can do if you prove your identity. And if someone else owns the account then they'll have an assurance in the fact that your identity is with them so it's less likely you'll scam (unless that identity you send is a false representation which it won't be).

Hi jackg,

thanks for you reply.

I already tried with the new email domain holder, but they refused to do anything...and the mail address does not have my name in it.

I have backups from that time, also with a wallet.dat in it, but it was the "new" one, and not the "old" one that held the payout address that was registered with the mining pool account. No other backups are possbile, because older USB sticks from that era stopped working so I got rid of them. I also swapped my HDDs in 2015 for larger models.

Btw, we are talking here about 0,66 BTC. I am also happy about PMs and would of course share the payout with someone, who gives me a hint that leads to the successful retrieval of the payout...

Hello,

maybe someone here has an idea.

I was mining in 2012, but forgot about it after some time. I sold the PC afterwards and moved on.

End of 2013 when I read again about Bitcoin(the media picked up bitcoin when the value rocketed), I remerbered and wanted to transfer the confirmed mining reward from my SlushPool account to a bitcoin wallet. I did not have the wallet backed up, but hey no problem, I get a new wallet, change my payout address in my mining pool account, lower the payout treshold and get the confirmed mining reward.

Only then I realized that the freemail provider I used to register with the pool was closed and gone forever. I talked with support, but they could not do anything, even tough I had the login data and even the login credentials for the worker. I was pissed and forgot about it again.

Now in the case you cannot access the registered mailaddress, to prove your identity you can sign a wallet message with the registered payout address. But see above, I dont have a wallet or private key backup of the registered payout address.

To sum it up:

-Mining Pool Account with confirmed payout pending
-all login data available (account, worker)
-Plausible reason why I cannot access my mail (you can google the close of the freemail provider)
-Nobody touched the pending confirmed mining reward for nearly 5 years
-Registered Mailadress is inaccessible
-Registered Payout address wrong

-PC from 2012 is sold (no way try to recover wallet.dat)

Is there a way to solve this riddle..?

Best regards,

Fred
