I recently read the news that many Chinese mining enterprises are turning off mining equipment more and more due to lack of profit.

Mining has increasingly become less profitable as it used to be power is the biggest challenge as mining equipments consume a lot of electricity and miners are seeing less profits with the bear market.
The best thing right now is to mine mine coins that are undervalued and will produce more quantity. Then hold them for profits in the next bull run.

I believe that if you have a specialized equipment (antminer, bitmine) and electric light in your country is subsidized or economic, you can still get good profit, so I've seen most people mine monero, but now with these new falls I do not know how profitable it is, if I'm not wrong I think there are webpages that tell you how much you get out of a mine and makes the profit calculations for you.

it is easier to buy the coin. because you can mine the coin, which is constantly cheaper and does not pay for your expenses.

I think bitcoin is still more profitable for mining, but mining bitcoin requires you to start with some capital, capital for power, the hard ware for the mining, so that cost  some money, so for me i am not thinking about mining at the moment. I still prefer, ico investing and trading

In my opinion I think you can surely earn a good amount of profit from mining if you have low electricity cost. But it is difficult right now and I think in this current condition trading is better than mining.

As Btc has a good future it’s worth mining it. One can make more and more profit from it as the price of btc will rise in future. Beside that you also have to think about long term. You can try ETH and/or XMR.

I think now a day’s mining is not so profitable. One of the reasons is high electricity cost. Here the profit depends on your electricity rate. Is also varies from time to time.

You can go for litecoin and ethereum for mining. Itecoin is much profitable and it offers good speed in generating blocks. In ethereum the main factor of mining as in electricity is much cheap.

I would suggest Monero to mine as it is one of the best crypto currency of 2018.  It is hassle-free to  mine Monero than bitcoin. It is anticipated that the value of it will be increased this year.

Is it worth mining any more? if so - which is the most profitable coin?

No, not for an individual. It would be far better to take the money that you were going to use to buy mining hardware, and just buy coins instead. The time for individual people to make money by mining coins on a single computer has long gone.

Mining is quite expensive so if you cannot bear the cost then mining crypto is definitely not profitable. But if specialized ASIC mining is affordable then mining is able to make profit.

Is it worth mining any more? if so - which is the most profitable coin?

Maybe you can try to mining some new coins, then you can be an early adopter of the coin.
But always find a good coin with a good project behind it, so your coin value can rise when it hit the market later.

Better than mining at the present time - use altcoyins that provide passive income from storing altcoyins in their wallet. Without additional investment in expensive equipment. You just need to be constantly online.

I think it will be difficult to meet the demands in terms of the profitability of mining if Bitcoin price falls to the amount of 3000 - 4000 USD specified in the estimates. As a result, Bitcoin shouldn't go below 6000 USD to fulfill equipment, electricity and maintenance costs.

Not really in my opinion. Maybe some upcoming or unique coins, like Dash, or Gladius.
PoW coins are a thing of the past in my opinion, efficiency eventually will rule.

We often overlook the value of speculative mining.  Pretty much nothing I mine right now is valuable but I have expectations that the coins will be more valuable later.  Sometimes the best time to mine is when everyone else gives up because the difficulty goes lower and makes it easier to get coins for a project that you believe in.

Just read about the coins and decide for yourself to know which coin you want to mine.  Join discord, telegram, twitter, etc and engage with the developers and community.

This time I cannot say that mining is profitable. It takes to a year or more to get your return, faster or slower by the electric power cost in your country. Or try your luck by mining the coin which has low diff, and hopes its price will increase.

Mining to me this days is no longer a profitable business. Maybe in the earlier time of around the year 2010, mining was very profitable. There were more coins to mine with few miners and low price.

At the moment, the usefulness factor of making coins to be at a very low level, I would not say that it is currently profitable. But it is possible if the electricity for you is a penny or even free of charge, then for 1 year you can still win a little money.

I don't really see mining as profitable for individuals as before especially with new hardware influx in the industry.... Unless you have the latest miners like ASIC 7NM which us 2018, you may not be able to earn as much unless you have mining rig...

If you believe in holding and the rise of crypto prices in future, than crypto mining is a good option but at current time and resource, a mining is not worth the hassle. Not that its not profitable, it is still profitable in papers but there are many things that can go wrong.

Doing crypto mining is profitable if your apparatus is a high quality device and the mining site you are dealing with is legit. There are so many other miners who are lacking some hope to get some profits but mining is efficient because you are not doing anything or exerting force to do it.

It's sad to say this now, but I'm sure that you also understand that today's mining is at the level of the floor in terms of payback and profitability. It is very difficult to understand this, because such a situation clearly goes beyond the normal. The price of bitcoin is the whole explanation.

You can mine Dash with non-ASIC devices, such as XFX 7990 (21.8 Mh / s), SAPPHIRE R9 Nano (20 Mh / s), GIGABYTE R9 390 (14 Mh / s).

Among the other currencies to be mined, Litecoin is still a possibility. You must have at least two high-performance graphics cards. It is possible to use the ASIC Scrypt for better profitability.
Litecoin is going through tough times at the moment but it is a good coin and I still believe it is a bright future.
Hello mate, I like your post, Can you explain this here very well. I am interested in mining Litecoin and do you have any link for those interested to mine litecoin.
Hi mate. You can get some basics, for example through this kind of articles > https://www.bitstarz.com/blog/back-to-basics-the-litecoin-mining-process Also don't forget to check on Youtube, look for tutorials. Mining nowadays is highly competitive though.

I think Mining is still worth the try save for the dwindling profitability that accrues in respect to power cost.
But all of that will soon be a thing of the past with WPP Energy introduction of HHO mobile power units of 1 - over 5 Megawat of electricity per hour.

There are more profitable mining activities you can engage in now; till then, hold on for an enhanced mining profitable industry

if you already have the mining equipment such as ASICs or a GPU mining rig and also only if you have cheap electricity you may be able to make some profit. otherwise if you want to start it from scratch then it is not worth it anymore because altcoins are going  down and by the time you set things up they will be a lot lower.

Mining is no more profitable. There are big companies like a Bitmain who invest million of dollars to mining farms, can you compete with them? i dont think so. So better is invest and buy Bitcoin than invest into mining rigs and mine.

Mining in our time has become not profitable. Many of my friends are trying to sell their video cards at very low prices, but there are very few buyers. In addition, the largest manufacturers of equipment for mining refuse to continue to work in this direction.

Mining is not really a profitable business if you don't have enough money to purchase the expensive mining machines. If you decide to just use your phone or computer, you will be wasting your precious time.

Unless you have specific gear and low electricity, it's not profitable to mine. And it hardly ever was.

People who mined 30 btc for month in an old laptop were mining without any profitability. But they were luck and visionaries, and if they were able to hold they made millions.

It's better to use the money you would spend with electricity and hardware directly in buying coins. Make some DCA techniques, buying a few every month..

Since you posted this question in the Alt section, I would assume it is not about bitcoin mining. In some cases mining may still be profitable, at least some people claim that. But it is not as profitable as last year this time, that is certain. I stopped my small GPU mining experiment because of it not being profitable any more. Maybe if you can afford to try with specialised ASIC mining on the Equihash algorithm, I have no idea. As you may see for yourself, the entire altcoin sector is free falling. If  you have confidence that there are some alts that are going to recover when the market becomes bullish again, pick some of them and start mining.
