Hashrate on AMD cards is about two times less than Nvidia GPUs. I think that Ether is better for AMD at the moment.

Rx 570 even mining ethereum or monero v8 are not any more profitable with an energy cost of 0.06 cent/kilowatt or at best the profit is extremely small.

If it is profit you are seeking the best you can mine is ethereum or just to get even pay for electricity and hope for better crypto prices in the future, ethereum is still the best choice.

Daily profit rates doesnt matter if you do not have hundred of GPUs and you do not convert your mined coins into BTC daily.
Today eth maybe not profitable but you cant know how it will be priced next month, it can be rich you too if you hold your mineds, or you can lose all yours too.
If you believe the project (just like raven), dont care about the profit, just mine and wait the right time.

ETH not profitable?

I have 6 x RX 570s mining ETH only, and it has yielded a lot of profit, 29-30 mh/s per card.

I wonder how much you pay for electricity ?

Ravencoin is more profitable to mine on Nvidia video cards, which have a higher hashrate on this algorithm. In addition, if we take into account the total emission of Ravencoin (several billion coins), it is not very likely to believe in the growth of this coin. It seems to me that Ether is more profitable.

It's a bad desicion to mine ravencoin with amd cars . It is based on x16r algo , which much more suitable for nvidia gpu's . Ethash and cryptonight algorithms much better optimized for rx 570 cards , so you better look for new profitable altcoins on these algorithms.

ETH not profitable?

I have 6 x RX 570s mining ETH only, and it has yielded a lot of profit, 29-30 mh/s per card.

not profitable enough he means, these algo jumpers are the main problem with gpu mining , they see a coin go up in price and immediately start to want to mine it, I get that you want to mine something more profitable, but you have cards that are better on cn forks and eth forks and terrible at x16 , if you wanted to. mine x16 you should have built nvidia rigs

Yea, fair enough

I typically just mine ETH or XMR (prior to the fork) and if I wanted to hold other coins I would just jump on an exchange and grab whatever coins I want.

Last question on the topic.
My AMD 570 have ETH mining ROM.

Can it also be used to mining ravencoin? Or do i need the o-Rom again?

Check whattomine.com and see what you should do.  Right now with those cards, you'd be almost twice as well off to mine something else and use that to buy RVN.

Okay lets try again. I know that ETH is not profitable. But i bought this rigg and i just want to get even. So i am looking for another coin.
With my Nvidia Riggs i am mining ravencoin. Its the last coin that keeps me from getting broke. I cant hold all my coins because i have a monthly rate to pay.

How much hashrate can i expect with an AMD 570 mining Ravencoin?
According to whattomine its only 5 mh/s. Can i expect more?

I am asking because the shown Hashrate for Nvidia Cards is not correct.

if you set it up right with the right software miner you can get them close to 10 MH but that's about it,unless you use this https://store.mineority.io/ which i would hold off buying right now till they start shipments ...

NV cards Mine RVn's a lot better, mine XMR https://xmr.nanopool.org/stats with AMD cards.

Just calculate it here:

But if you believe in Ravencoin, dont look at the profitability.

Some people sell some of what they mine and run it as a business, some people mine coins on speculation.  Right now I don't know of many coins that are profitable but the websites listed above are a great place to start.  You should check out how much electricity costs in your part of the world as a first step.

Hey guys,

what do you think about mining Ravencoin with 8x AMD 570?
Is it worth a try? Or is ETH still the most profitable?

Thanks in advance.

I personally haven't used any AMD 500's as of yet, I'm still on my 480's.  lol  But as stated, if you truly believe in the project, then profitability isn't what you should be looking at.  If a project that you join has a good team, quality technology, and is in it for the long haul, then you shouldn't be selling your coins, but rather HODLing them.  Value occurs over time, and this is true for any valuable projects that exists whether they are a Cryptocurrency or Token.
