I'm running one of the MSI twin frozr 7950s, with moderate overclocking you can get 550 or better on both, some with higher overclocks get around 600
550 kh/s for each card? Or both the wiki says 550 for one 7950
So assuming i buy one 7950 now, and use the profit from it to buy an additional. What hashrate can I expect?

I'd recommend 7950s for GPUs.
Seasonic or Corsair 850w -> 1250w PSU, depending on how many GPUs you are planning to get. Each 7950 uses ~190w, so for 3 you could easily do it on an 850w.
Any CPU+Mobo that is low cost and has the amount of PCI-E slots you want for the number of GPUs you're planning to get (if you had a bigger budget I would recommend a well known brand for the motherboard such as ASUS).
And for RAM, 4-8GB Corsair/GSkill 1333-1600.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to price out anything that included 2x7950s as it went way over budget. So you may have to start out with 1 card for now and add more as you mine or gain other income.

Yeah the 7950's are the way to go GPU wise, they are expensive though, but I wouldn't at this point bother with anything less.

I'm would like to start mining Litecoins (or any other profitable "Alternate cryptocurrencies") since there is no way that I could start Bitcoin mining. I'm going to do it as a source of alternative income as well as a hobby. I don't pay for electricity so don't worry about factoring that in to advice.
The max I can spend on the build is $765 USD
I really want to get the most Kh/s (or Mh/s) as possible, this said I'm fine with having 4 cards on one rig, or more than one rig is fine aswell!
Really what I'm asking for here is help with picking parts, because I'm new to mining and I don't really know what specs I should be looking for (besides no nvidia cards
).
