I'd say it's probably an issue with the activation, or it could likely be a virus if it's a crack/illegal download.

If your rig is just for mining you can run Linux and that should work if you can't get Windows working.

Some OS's that you can download off torrents have virus's/hacks already in them so there's no way to detect them (Not saying this is it). If this is giving you a huge problem, I would just reformat and install a new OS

You need to get a program and see what is set to startup with Windows.  Are you using TeamViewer to control this desktop or do you have it hooked up to a monitor?

Not having it activated can cause issues, why isn't it?

Also, windows kept bugging me about activating it.

Hm, and you thought you could run Windows being not activated for ever? Smiley

Hi, I just woke up to find that when I log on to my account on win 7 64bit it just freezes. Safe mode works and nothing else. Could this be a virus? I know it can't be my SSD because I built my rig 2 weeks ago.

Also, windows kept bugging me about activating it. Is this why it hangs on desktop. By the way the desktop is black with just the cursor on it. I can't move the cursor and the keyboard doesn't work.

Edit: I just did a sfc /scannow in safe mode and now when I turn the rig on it hangs on please wait.... and doesn't log onto desktop
