It really all depends. If you are trading your coins in for BTC immediately then it will alter it significantly. If you pick a good solid coin and mine it to hold itll be significantly different.

As for video cards, RX 570/570 4Gb cards gives you the best bang for your buck, you can mine all the popular coins with great efficiency

They are the best on Ethhash (ETH/ETC/others) overall (close on efficiency vs anything else, better on hash/$ vs anything else at recent pricing).
They aren't even CLOSE on efficiency vs current Nvidia cards on equihash (ZEC/ZEN/ZCL/others) though they are in the ballpark on hash/$ at current pricing.
They seem to be better in many cases vs current Nvidia cards on Cryptonight (XMR/others) but get blown away overall by Vega except on hash/$ if you have to pay a TON more than MSRP on Vega cards.

That covers most of the "most popular" coins that are GPU mineable.

Right now, the RX 570/580 cards probably have the best ROI - but it's close, and if AMD Polaris card pricing keeps climbing that might change AGAIN.

*IF* you could get reference-model Vega cards at close to their MSRP, they'd be the best - but try finding a Vega at ALL lately, much less near MSRP.

Hello everyone,
I´m new here and also in the cryptocurrency mining world. I am starting to build my own mining rig and I dont know if I choose 3 x EVGA GTX 1080 ICXPC 11 GB DDR5 GPU´s or 6 x ASUS 1060 6gb GPU´s?? which set can give me a faster ROI? in terms of hashpower? In case the electricity bills wouldnt be an issue..
How can I measure which could be better? any advice or suggestion will be appreciated!

regards from colombia,

Invest on nvidia 1070ti 8 GB cards. You will get the profit with the mining ethereum. I think for each card you will get the hash power around 25 to 27 mh. You can connect your mining cards to the nanopool mining. You may get the decent profit around 800 USD for mining with the 10 cards.
You may swap the nice hash more profit but still server is not available. So wait for sometime.

So with the 6 or 7 asus 1060 6GB how much profit you think I can expect..?

Thats not a bad build and should work out fine with no issues. I use Mintcell risers that work out great just dont recommend using the SATA connectors.  That is overall a great setup to get started.  What OS are you using?

To tell you the  truth, I was offered a whole combo including the configuration of the rig so I dont know what OS the guy would use or even what OS is haha, I have the basic millenial knowledge in computing... by OS I think you mean Operative Sistem so I guess it would be Windows 10. I am starting to learn a lot in this forum and I am seriously thinking about configurating the thing by myself.. What OS do you recommend?

IT will cost me aprox $10´000.000 COP that equals $3.300 USD .... is it a good cost for the rig? and supposing that the electricity bill is around $70 USD for the whole month.. When I will be reaching the breakeven?

THANKS A LOT FOR THE HELP!

Go with 6x 1060 6GB as it will be able to mine ETH and other algorithms.
Breakeven depends on a lot of factors which change rapidly still, you will be able to reach breakeven in six months or so.

Thanks a lot!

THis is the whole idea:

- Pentium 4560
- 6 OR 7 asus 1060 6gb
- h110 btc asrock
- PNY 120GB
- RAM 4GB DDR 4
- EVGA 1OOO Y 750 WATTS GOLD PSU
- CHASIS
- RYZER ADAPTORS

what you think?
