Mining on a Laptop is not a good idea I guess.
Wouldn't this impact the lifetime of the hardware very hard?
I guess it wouldn't be worth the outcome.

Electricity and ventilation are key I think.

How much do you pay for electric where you are?

How much CPU usage does this require?

Unless you want to got negative balance for the electricity bill.
haha, thats what i though. but since he say like this.
Electricity would not be a problem as that is already covered and not coming out of my pocket.

i dont think it would be any trouble, maybe he live in appartment where the electrycity include the rent and he not pay extra for that. or he leave his mac at his office.

Wouldn't recommend mining on a MacBook as there is not enough heat sink to let the heat. This will not only cause a lot of problems for other components but also reduce its selling price. Check the hash rate you are getting so you can get an estimate the amount of coins you are making and minus the electricity cost ( not in your case) to check profit. You can look into monero. Since you mentioned the MacBook used I would suggest selling the MacBook and holding some coins for a better profit.

Nowadays it's almost all ASICs, non-specialised hardware like CPU and GPU mining, as well as using your laptop, has been basically rendered obsolete because of how high the mining difficulty is.

Electroneum maybe good enough, with that spec you can get around 4 to 8 ETN in 24hours non stop mining. But not really worth i guess, check whattomine.com and try to calculate which coin can give you more profit.

Hey crypto family. I have a 2015 MacBook Pro laptop laying around not being used. Core i5 8GB of RAM. 256 SSD. Would it be possible to mine any shitcoins/decent ALTs with it and get some good returns? Electricity would not be a problem as that is already covered and not coming out of my pocket. If this is possible what coins would you guys recommend and what mining software for Mac would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
