There is literally already a subforum for Bitcoin related stocks. It is the Securities section. It is hardly used by anyone ever and in desperate need of some active securities as it currently only has 1 in the entire section. I’d recommend posting there.

As you can see, it got buried fast in seconds.

There are still topics from March 5th on the first page, so it has stayed there for at least 2 days, yet you haven't got a single reply! That's not about visibility , it's about people not being interested in it, it's a simple thing, even if you get a sub forum you know what the extra attention will be made of? Quota posts as the majority on this forum (and I can bet on it) don't even know what CLSK is!

As you said it, it is what it is, the amount of people trading stocks here is probably negligible, the amount interested in mining stocks you can count them on a few fingers, that's reality!
Theymos has already made clear that for a local subforum to have their own board they must have enough activity in their won topic, how would that be fair for creating a board when there is no activity on yours ?

ps:
Why haven't you bumped the topic I mentioned it before?

At least it had a few users, and some real info on it, that could have gained traction!

Subs are created due to demand but this is far too niche for an entire board. Just create a thread for this specific thing and see how popular it is. Maybe in the future there could be a board for bitcoin related stocks/ETFs or maybe a general stocks and investments board or something but right now there obviously isn't enough demand.

Yeah, I already tried in there:

As you can see, it got buried fast in seconds. The speculation subforum is just BTC price predictions basically, any sightly offtopic stuff goes unnoticed. It is what it is. I would really like to find some people with experience on this field. They are mostly on twitter I guess, but there's a lot of pump and dumpers and it's hard to find some legit shareholders that do due diligence when investing and know the fundamentals.

The Speculation and/or Trading Discussion would suffice. Mining stocks are such a small subcategory that activity would be freakishly small for it to have its own section. Heck, probably even Ordinals and inscriptions(which don't deserve their own section as well) might have more activity than mining stocks.

Well who knows, you never know until the subforum is open IMO. I think there is a big community of holders of bitcoin mining stocks. I watch channels like Sebastian and Talkin Investing on Youtube and they get 5k to 10k views consistently per video. Yes it's quite a niche thing, but who knows until you gather all the people interested how many show up. I guess I will stuck to the generic speculation subforum for now. Miner stocks got wrecked recently and I would like the view on other market participants on what happened.

I respect your suggestion, but how many threads are there related to mining stocks or detailed discussions about CLSK, BITF, MARA and how many people might want to invest in them or have access to invest in them? Do not forget that the forum is multinational and therefore the choice of subforums depends on the topics that the community wants. With a quick search, we will see that topics such as the Lightning Network and Bitcoin ETF deserve to be subforums due to the large number of posts. However, these subforums have not been created, so the chance of Mining stocks subforum seems slim.

There's too much stuff on the speculation subforum. If you make a thread there, it gets buried fast with the rest of price predictoin threads, which are often only about BTC, even if there is a post with a million pages only dedicated to that.

I believe the impact of mining stocks on the market is very underrated. MARA was the #1 traded stock in the world not a long ago, when it had its run to recent highs everyone was trading it. I think there will be some huge moves, but these stock are high risk, many moving parts. When BTC goes down, they get wreckt, and some are at the verge of bankruptcy, but the ones that survive should do well. I think a subforum may gather people that specialize in these miners and actually hold them or are looking to meet some shareholders and share some views. So far there's only twitter for this that I know off, but I don't know any forums.

There won't be any chance of having a new sub-board created therefore you will have to utilise one of the existing boards. When it comes to posting in Off-Topic the chances are posts will not be counted towards campaign quotas therefore it could be an isolated thread with no interest being shown. You can select where you want it to and move it around later if members request a better place.

I wanted to post some stuff about CLSK, BITF, MARA, which are my favorite Bitcoin miner picks that I like to hold. Would the "Mining speculation" be a forum for this or is this out of place? most threads are about mining gear but I don't see people talking about buying call/put options on Cleanspark or whatever other good stuff for speculators that are into this thing. I was also looking at the speculation subforum but that is too broad. There should be a community of people here that are into mining stocks but its widespread all over the forum and maybe don't talk about it much because it's a bit of a niche thing.

Just put them in Economics or Speculation. In my opinion I think Economics is the more appropriate option of the two, unless you're trying to make an r/wallstreetbets style topic, in which case I would tell you to just make it inside the Speculation forum and get your speculating backside outta here Wink

But it seems tha tyou've already found the perfect fit for your topic in Mining Speculation.

I have no interest in this but if OP really want to have some place for discussion about those stocks of Bitcoin mining companies [1], he can create a Mega thread for it and host it. If people have interest in it, they will join discussion and contribute to make that thread as a Mega one.

It can be a sub of child board but theymos very rarely take action to create a new board or new child board (sub forum).

I bet if a thread got started up about mining stocks, it'd get reported and the mods would either delete it or have a hell of a hard time figuring out where to relocate it.

Let's test it, still somewhat fresh  Grin
WSB Style Best Bitcoin Related Stock Picks for 2024

I get the feeling that most members probably don't hold any of the stocks OP mentioned--or any others--but there have to be some members who do, given how many registered users this forum has.  I've owned MARA in the past (and RIOT, too), and there's really nowhere to discuss these kinds of stocks that I know of.

I highly doubt theymos will create a board on those assumptions, but anyhow, in my opinion if people didn't bother to start a topic about those in the first place if they felt the need to discuss then they won't fill that board with content either, unless we talk about sig quotas.

What you want to talk about is speculation on stocks, so guess where you can discuss there  Grin, in the speculation board!
But the Speculation section is all about bitcoin's price (and IMO I'm not even sure anymore if keeping that section alive is even productive, since there's never much new there and it's all guesswork trying to predict where bitcoin's going).  I bet if a thread got started up about mining stocks, it'd get reported and the mods would either delete it or have a hell of a hard time figuring out where to relocate it.

There are like 10-20 companies that really matter, more than a topic for them would be overkill, and I'm pretty sure that topic itself will be quite empty, betting on half of the question being "why not buy Bitcoin?".
You speak the truth, but I have to say I'd like to see more discussion about publicly-traded companies that have their business centered around bitcoin mining.  I get the feeling that most members probably don't hold any of the stocks OP mentioned--or any others--but there have to be some members who do, given how many registered users this forum has.  I've owned MARA in the past (and RIOT, too), and there's really nowhere to discuss these kinds of stocks that I know of.

I guess speculation board would be a good board for such topics. Since it's related to stocks price and speculation and thus I believe it should be there.  At mining speculation I don't see any topics of such nature so I guess at that board people aren't interested in such topics so I believe that speculation board should be much suitable for such topics.
