Minergate is well known to steal parts of your hashrate. I'd encourage you to also give the smaller pools a chance: https://coinfoundry.org/pool/xmr

I tried to mine Monero with my laptop using Minergate. my Laptop is Acer Aspire 575g (i5 7th gen, 2GB GT940mx ) I able to mine 1.5 XDN in full 3days of mining and 11 BCN in 4 Days of mining. But Mining Monero is impossible with my PC. when I mine BCN max Hash rate was around 180H/s, In XMR-Stack it was aroun 300H/s, Once i saw the post said Minergate steal our 45% Hash rate. but i dont know it's totally true. But I can get Idea when comparing both Hash rates

Evening all,

I've been mining via Minergate initially, then switched to Stak for higher # rate although just to make you all aware at the start this is a VERY long term background task and not my way to Millions in a short space of time !

Currently running my old Dell XPS 8300 i7 2600 3.4GHz (LGA1155 socket) pc with 16Gb RAM and a Radeon HD 6950 2Gb card.

Via XMR I get a #rate for the cpu/gpu combined of around 330 H/s for Monero

Via Minergate i get around 40 Sol/s on the gooey for ZCash.

The PC does/is used for nothing else, is sat in a very cool room and can be left on all day/night, solar covers daytime costs.

I'm looking at upgrading the CPU/GPU but only on a £150 budget for the GPU (1050 Ti?) and not sure about the CPU as the i7 2600 doesn't seem too bad - looking for a straight plug and play rather than anything that requires changing other components

Would welcome any and all comments, suggestions (helpful/unhelpful all are welcome)

It really is more of a background setup, my aim is to not check daily but once every month or so just to make sure it hasn't stopped running !

Thanks all in advance,

TKOJoe
