Lower temperature will be achieved by lower ambient temperature AND/OR reducing clock speed and power consumption.  If your rigs were in a freezer then you would be able to expect a drop in temperature.  However, this is not a practical solution.  I manage my cards by setting a temperature threshold.  When a card hits that temp the fan is increased and the power reduced.  Your best bet is to manage your rigs in a similar fashion.  I'd set it so that the power and temp was set lower, you can still raise clock speeds (small increments until instability) and go from there.

Thank you for your reply...for some reason I do not see the voltage being activated in afterburner...I can set the temperature as threshold (not to go above 88C for instance). So fans being triggered does not draw more power consumption? I thought if they trigger less the less electricity they spend

Until the end
Hi all,

hope I am posting this in the right place and that this topic can be on its own. I am really new to crypto mining and still getting the hang of it. I managed to set up a 6x1070 gtx OC dual and out of the stock without any tweaks to it I used Claymore v11 to mine ETH with 170MH/s...I have been reading past few days and seen people using afterburner to setup cards to higher clocks to achieve better MH so today I used only the ClockCore on afterburner to bring it up to 180Mh/s. Which now seems Ok, only temperature on one card runs 63C on most others its 62 61 60...The fans are on auto and running on approx 38-40%. I keep the rig in the warehouse where the surrounding temperature does not exceed 7'C.

Now what I would like to know will decrease in voltage reduce electricity consumption and temperature or lower temperature is achieved with higher fan %...is higher fan% drawing more power. I really have no means or knowledge to test this from technical side and instruments so any input in regard to this is welcome.

Moreover, since I mine only ETH for now I would appreciate if anyone can suggest what would be the best coin to add to dual mining (if that is even economically sound). I have been searching online what would be best coin to add to dual mining but mostly I find dates from 2017 which is unusable now.

Thank you for your time and effort to help me out
