put it bluntly, correct.

These -extremely archaic- graphics cards are strictly fixed function. They cannot do ANYTHING other than draw a picture on the screen. Throw them in the dumpster or donate them to goodwill. They aren't good for anything else.

You need a Radeon HD 4000 series card or newer. Older cards simple won't work: the hardware wasn't built for it, and the drivers won't let you do it.

Hello all,

I may have acquired 5-6 VisionTek Radeon 7000 64mb PCI cards (VT-RAD7K). They are not supported by windows 7 so i would have to run them on XP or Linux.

I looked in the mining comparisons but no one has seemed to log these cards. And search here did not find anything. Does anyone have experience trying to use these, and 5-6 of them on a single rig?

Edit: i found this thread but it does not say if it works or not.... just speculation.
