Actually, a lot of recent airdrops are scams, including a lot of E-XXX coins. These projects are created to make the "dev" rich.

It is also responsible of each user to scan or search the tokens before signing up.
It is very basic, just visit the website, find the whitepaper, browse other pages that will make you understand more about the token/coin.
You are not a child to distinguish whether the website is fake, trash, legit, good, etc.
Re-check the address, contract, symbol, exchanges etc.

Not because there is a google form it is already a legit airdrop.
Some may just want to get followers on Twitter, Fb or Telegram.
Specially those who are asking for your private key. Avoid that.

However, not all asking for donation are scam. That is why you need to do your own research before investing or donating certain amount of eth.

I guess we should all take this as a warning. Of the airdrops going around, a lot are designed to trick and scam you. First it was just usernames, profile links, and email addresses for spam. Now they want your private keys. I've even seen one with a smart contract - who knows what that will trigger.

It's a big shame about airdrops. Used to be quite a respectable (and effective) way to promote a coin with quick distributions without doing ICOs but they're a pest now.

Can't decide what I dislike more now, airdrops or ICOS.

its hard to tell if the email really came from the developer, for there are alot of airdrops that asks for an email and then post the email publicly on a spreadsheet. it might be the dev or anyone who has seen those spreadsheets. what i do is just ignore all emails that ask to buy tokens or donations or details on my eth address, just to keep me safe from phising.

There are a lot of scams of ICOs today so the only way to get rid from those scammers is to report it to mods so that pages will be closed or locked up or else make a thread like what you did now. Scammers will have no space in this forum.
Bitcoin is for everyone but scams were not.

Just WOW. Who do they think they can scam with? You are totally idiot if you send them your private keys. What don't you guys reply in that email saying they are a bunch of scammers? That's why I already started to shunned away from their air drops because they are asking weird information and this is the worst that I have seen. Thanks though for reminding the community and for those who are thinking to send your private key please don't.
exactly..and the information we gave when fill upping the airdrop form totally matched up to the email that they send to us.. they cant just say that it is an impostor who copy their email adress and send some shitty mail that contains suspicious sayings

Very true, I too got mail, quote:

Due the high demands and fake email accounts in order to claim more than one time MINION COINS Airdrop Campaign we need to verify you are the owner of this account :
0x....................................

We need you send the private keys in order to verify this information. As soon as we receive your airdrop will be processed.
Note we will note store any private information and all will be deleted as soon as airdrop is completed.
