I had bought a $500 Scrypt hashing contract from them last year, and during the time that it actually worked, I automined, and then eventually moved to mining SJWCoins, converting it all directly to Dogecoins, and with that, I managed to amass what is now valued at about $350 in Dogecoins. I wish we could get a class action suit going, since they only managed to provide me with about 50-60% of the promised hashing power, and only for the duration of about 30% of my contract period, the rest being purely idle time while they "sorted out issues" with their upstream hashing provider.

I also stupidly used Cryptsy for most of my conversions, boy am I glad I didn't leave more than a negligible amount of change stored in their system.

E: Whoops, forgot that I also made enough to buy a new Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite from Newegg, which was about $100. So I almost made back all of my money on the deal.

Look at where Cryptsy is, today...  and wonder why Mintsy (Cryptsy-sponsored or a business OF Cryptsy?) was failing so quickly?  When businesses/CEO's choose to lie and delay and distract, instead of coming clean, when an issue arises, these kinda things happen.  The crypto-coin scene seems pretty much criminal in every nook and cranny.  This entire world is nuts.  Jesus needs to come back, to sort it all out...

I decided to start this topic because Mintsy's offered by cloud mining is complete scam !  Angry

There are lots of people in SHA-256 and Scrypt side with inactive contract.
Workers were long time way too low under promised hashrate.
External pools don't work at all, you can't point your hashpower anyware but Mintsy pools, but now those are inactive too.
I have Potcoins in and they don't allow to withdraw them.
And finally now my two contracts have been inactive last 10 days!
Support answers fast and like this everytime:  "My apologies, unfortunately we have not been able to resolve the issue with inactive workers at this time. We are currently seeking a new provider. (our old provider Digital BTC has backed out of our contract) Once a new provider is active, accounts will go live again and we will decide on case by case basis what we will be doing with accounts that were affected.

Your patience is greatly appreciated as we go through this transition. Thank you, have a great day!"

Have a great day? LMAO  Grin

Well looks like this has now turned 100% scam. They have stopped all payments as payment of my remaining small amounts of coins are stuck in pending for more than 2 weeks now. And my last comments to their support their is no answer in 3 weeks yet I have responded almost each week created new tickets and even sent support tickets in from other emails with new business making it look like am a new customer looking for advise and seems still no answers.

Who would be interested in getting a lawsuit made against them and trying to recover peoples funds with a collective fund account that people can pay into to cover legal fees and getting it in action?

@BitJohn Any word form them did you ever contact them regarding you saying will try to contact them and get some response off them. The people you said to go to have no part in Mintys now and it seems that Mintys is its own thing on its own now.

just saw this thread.

I tried renting machines on mintsy a number of times....both as someone providing hash and also renting hash.

It never worked out. I think I tried for a couple of days on two different occasions

Never got expected hash rate when renting and seemingly ratings were cooked up. Rates also.

I did get partially refunded for my rentals and never went back.

Does it still operate?

no operation for me I have a pending case for 3 months now for a refund and keep giving me crap about once operation is fully back up and running will be refunded. 3 months on and no refund and support are getting lasy at responding to tickets too. Think I will star to take legal action against them to recover funds. Was only small but to be fair could of been a lot more if it continued proper and would of rolled over but now waste of time doing anything and I would strongly advise staying the hell away from them.
the amounts I put in to mine were small...not worth taking legal action. I also was able to get whatever coins I mined thru them......into crypsty (of course).
Hash rates always lagged for long time and I never got what I thought I should have...would have thought with all the state of the art interfaces out there they could have done better.
mrr or nicehash for me

For the part of 2 months where good but never 100% as told or meant to be on contract did boost it to make up for lost hash. But the last month or so due to their so called re location was nothing but total BS guess time will tell as cryptsy and all their partners  pulled out so they are on their own and no doubt wont last much longer.

Hey there, I too am one of those that Mintsy swindled and handled shamelessly for 2 months.

For me they are scammers, pure vile scum and villainy. They sold the contracts when they did know they could not deliver as promised. The contract I bought did not even mine 1 $ worth for its lifespan.

Their support adds insult to injury, with their lies to everyone who is asking for refund.

I was thinking about going in with a class action lawsuit against them since they must have sold hundreds of contracts, and I for one will not let them get away with what they have done.

It's not a huge sum, 150 bucks they scammed me for, but it is a matter of principle for me now.

Who else is out there that wants them to pay for what they did?

Remember there is strength in numbers, and they will be shitting in their pants when they see a crowd closing in where they will also pay for legal bills and damage compensation. We should organize.

Related to the subject and to confirm a hunch, is there anybody out there that paid with a fiat wire transfer instead of BTC, and got a refund. I suspect they paid / will pay the fiat transfers and leave the BTC paying folks high and dry.

Have you been scammed by Mintsy cloud mining service?

Press releases and ads said that it was a project by Cryptsy and Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) traded company DIGITAL CC LIMITED (ticket DCC@ASX).

Do not hesitate to lodge a complaint to Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
DigitalCC has a lot of money, so ASIC can force them to pay our money back.

Follow instructions here:

Hay John Well I got a response from them and it is not a good one.

Dear xxx,

Sorry to hear the difficulties you have been having in relation to Mintsy. However, digitalBTC no longer has any association with Mintsy and all enquirers in relation to Mintsy need to be made directly to the Mintsy company.

Kind regards,
Michaela

So it looks like its not good if they have pulled out with them so i ask asked the question? Whos running or partnered with them now as this is seeming like doom and gloom and nothing is going to move forward.

And my last response from mintsy support is as follows.

From support...

Reason why some are active and others are not is because we them on a separate location. Unfortunately there is still no update from management but there has been a few accounts that have been restored. Once we are 100% back online we will resume sending out refunds for contracts that were affected and have expired and compensate those that are still active. Once I have more information I will contact you right away.

Thank you and have a great week ahead!

Ticket: https://mintsy.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/tickets/4896

Sincerely,

So looks like some movement is working but not for many and could be into next year or never gonna happen.

Australian firm DigitalBTC is bowing out of bitcoin mining to focus on its consumer products, its CEO has said.

"First ASX-listed bitcoin company dumps 'mining' for remittance" http://www.smh.com.au/business/banking-and-finance/first-asxlisted-bitcoin-company-dumps-mining-for-remittance-20150929-gjx1ip.html

"DigitalBTC Bows Out of Bitcoin Mining Race" www.coindesk.com/digitalbtc-bows-out-of-bitcoin-mining-race-2/

Well they said it and apparently they don't feel the need to deal with the mess they left. Though they definitely still own 50% of Mintsy and its liabilities.

As they are not selling contracts since the mining partner left probably not a scam.... I think on the odds of getting a refund they are probably good DigitalBTC is a publicly held, and traded company. They really don't have a choice in the end.

I think currently mintsy is still looking for a new mining provider.
so any news with you speaking to Paul yet or in same position no response. Support made claims will refund and compensate but only when 100% back online and up and running and this could be any time and its a joke to have to wait around for them.

I got nothing more at the moment. Has anyone approached digitalBTC?

sent 2 emails though to them so far and not had any response back so I guess 1 business to 2 ignoring emails that have been sent last week. Will try to get another one sent to them later this evening and see what happens and go from their.

Feel free to take a look at my posts in thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--786673 been talking about them in detail and not only me and you in a fuss but theirs a fair few people whos got problems. This all started due to them losing their location and having to find somewhere else and their support have said will refund once back up and running 100%. I cant see it happening anytime soon. As its been like this for the last 2 months for me and is a waste of funds. Things where  picking up but eventually went tits up due to their problems and should refund without question but wont.

The math may not be in the miner's favor, but mintsy.co was still an interesting idea given that you could mine different coins and point your workers to external pools.

I tried mintsy.co with a couple of contracts, but it hasn't worked out, so far...

1. All my workers flatlined over a month ago. I would have had more fun had I just purchased a bunch of alt-coins with USD and traded them.

2. Support explained they were moving their mining farm and that I would be given extra hashing to compensate. That has not happened yet.

3. They close my support cases after 5 days of inactivity. They consider this "resolution" I suppose, but how can you close a case when your promised solution has not materialized?

4. I requested a refund, but that support case will probably be closed after 5 days too, unless I add a comment to it every few days. meh...
