Awar-winning director, Mira Nair, tells us what it’s all about in this innovative masterclass on independent filmmaking. In Nair’s own words, you need to be sick to be a filmmaker, and she is as sick as can be.
This wonderfully gifted lady takes us through everything that filmmaking means. She covers the basic concepts, such as casting and editing, but focuses on finding your voice, on defining your style as a filmmaker.

She talks about things like directing your actors and about making your budget stretch so that you can create the best film you possibly can. Towards the end of her 17-lesson course, she takes us through a fascinating 3-part scene workshop that covers everything from the first read-through to the final take.

IN the final past of the course, she covers stuff like editing, working with cinematographers and preparing the final version of the movie. The masterclass, which comes complete with a dedicated workbook (filled with key concepts and exercises), is a treat fit both for aspiring filmmakers and for avid movie-goers.
