However i cannot spend it (still) and when i try to sweep the private key using bitcoin core (14 weeks behind) using dumpprivkey *priv key here* it says 'address does not refer to a key (code -3)
I think you're getting a bit confused with how the commands in Bitcoin Core work... dumpprivkey is used for getting private keys OUT of Core... not importing them!

The command you want is: importprivkey "Priv key here"

That will then put the private key into your wallet.dat and rescan the blockchain looking for transactions associated with that private key/address. Your transactions and coins related to that private key/address should then show up (assuming your Bitcoin Code is synced up until the point in time the transactions were confirmed)... If it is 14 weeks behind still... it won't be able to show transactions from 3 days ago Wink

wallet should certain private key,so it well be no error returned and code.transaction will be applied secret key and bitcoin needs blockchain to be transact to their own private key to make avoid of missing

Importing the private key returns 'null'
"null" means that the import worked... Your wallet should now contain the address/private key that you imported. Otherwise it would have returned an error message and an error code.

To get the transaction history for this address/private key, you may need to restart Bitcoin Core with the "-rescan" option, so that it rescans the blockchain for transactions relating to that address.

I'm currently looking for a way to generate a private key linked to the address using my 12 words (BIP39?)
The BIP39 Mnemonic Code Converter can do that... https://iancoleman.io/bip39/

I'd recommend you download the page (right click -> save as...) and then run it on an offline computer or using a live CD/USB with the networking disabled to reduce the chances of exposing your seed to hackers/thieves.

The tool itself is pretty easy to use, you just need to make sure you have the correct "Derivation Path"... which can be different in some wallets. Which wallet did the 12 words come from?

Tim

Do you want to generated private key in the blockchain wallet means please check the below Youtube videos which can explain that how to do that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-B2chNtPoo

If you want to export or import the private key from any desktop wallet, I think this article will be helpful to understand the steps to import your wallet with the private key. https://www.bitcoin.com/guides/how-to-import-and-export-bitcoin-private-keys
You don't worry that you did not find the result in importing it. I think will help you more.

Update:

I just had the idea to look into my daily backup from my computer and restore the cache to the Jaxx wallet. This worked out and the wallet now shows the amount and the bitcoin transaction as confirmed. I can also see the private key and transaction adress for the received bitcoins.

However i cannot spend it (still) and when i try to sweep the private key using bitcoin core (14 weeks behind) using dumpprivkey *priv key here* it says 'address does not refer to a key (code -3)

when trying to enter the adress it was send to it says 'private key for adress xxxx is not known (code -4)

Hi everyone,
3 days ago i bought 0.1 bitcoin. I used the adress provided by my Jaxx wallet. The 0.1 bitcoin showed up as received, but unconfirmed. 1 hour later the transaction was confirmed by 6+ blocks. However i could not spend any of the bitcoin or it would result in an 'transaction failed'.
2 days after my 0.1 bitcoin investment, i bought after 50 euros worth of bitcoin. This bitcoin was confirmed within an hour, and i could instantly spend 45+ fee.
I installed a diffrent wallet (exodus) to check my bitcoin amount, as i could spend the 50 but not the 800~ on Jaxx.
The exodus wallet showed 50 - 45~ on transactions, with aprox 5 euros remaining. My jaxx still showed 800~+ 5 euros, but again i couldent spend it.
I re-loaded the cache on Jaxx, and it also showed 5 euros remaining. No sign to be seen from the 800 euro's. Not in transactions, not in private keys.
I checked the status of the transaction ID and it shows that it has been confirmed and 'unspent'.
I've tried to install bitcoin core, but since this requires a wallet.dat file which i dont have (because Jaxx uses 12 words) i cannot connect my 'wallet/account' to Bitcoin core.
Can anyone help me to retrieve my lost 0.1 bitcoins?
Thanks! Tim
