I just checked RBF strategies and there is no "Preserve payment" option.
You are using an old version.

Just to note, you only get this error if you have chosen the "Preserve payment" option from the drop down box, since Electrum will not reduce the final output amounts in order to contribute more to the fee.
I just checked RBF strategies and there is no "Preserve payment" option.
The options are as follows.

  • decrease change, or add new inputs, or decrease any outputs
  • decrease change, or decrease any outputs
  • decrease payment

Whatever strategy has been used by OP, it should allow decreasing the payment amount.

In the case of using the first option, the payment is decreased if there is no change and there is no extra UTXO.
In the case of using the second option, the payment is decreased if there is no change.
In the case of using the third option, the payment is decreased even if there's a change or there is extra UTXO.

Correct me if I am wrong, please.

You should get that error when you don't have enough fund to increase the fee to the amount you want.
Just to note, you only get this error if you have chosen the "Preserve payment" option from the drop down box, since Electrum will not reduce the final output amounts in order to contribute more to the fee. If you don't have an additional output in your wallet to contribute more fees to your RBF transaction, then you can change the drop down box to "Decrease payment" and it will reduce your outputs and increase your fee using the same inputs.

Does remove means cancel and I can restart again?
As already said, no transaction has been made at all and there's nothing to cancel. The transaction in question is displayed only in your wallet and there is no record of that anywhere else.
With clicking on "Remove", you ask your wallet to forget that local transaction and after that you will be able to make a new transaction.

Hi,  I tried right click and say cannot bump fee. No suitable output..
You should get that error when you don't have enough fund to increase the fee to the amount you want.

Can I cancel this transfer or do I have to jut wait for a long time?
As already said, the transaction in question is local. This means that the transaction hasn't been broadcasted to the network at all.
Don't you see the "Remove" option when right-clicking on the transaction?

Does remove means cancel and I can restart again?

Thanks

So, you have two choices:
  • 1. You can Right-click on it and check if there's an "Increase fee" option.
If there is, use that to set a higher fee rate.
  • 2. There's another option for local transaction which is "Remove",
that will enable you delete that local transaction from your history to spend its input(s) to another transaction.
Use this if you want to change the recipient's address.

Just adding to what has been already sai, make sure that when you broadcast your transaction, you have changed the fees for something between maybe 10 and 15 sats/vByte if you're not in great hurry. Make it like 20 sats/vByte to make it happen faster, like for the next block or so!

I did a transfer yesterday and it still say Local[1.sat/b]. seems like it's unconfirmed... Can anyone help me what this is about?  Thanks
It'll show "Unconfirmed" if it's unconfirmed, "Local" means that it's only saved in your wallet, your selected server dropped it from their mempool.
Even if it's "local", Electrum will allow you to perform RBF if you've set that transaction as replaceable.

So, you have two choices:
  • 1. You can Right-click on it and check if there's an "Increase fee" option.
If there is, use that to set a higher fee rate.

You can use https://mempool.space to set the fee rate (sat/vbytes) to be used.
It shows transactions with less than 3.85 sat/vbyte in fees are rejected. That's why OP's transaction can't exist in the mempool.
The purge-limit is much higher than I expected, considering that 6 sat/vbyte is currently enough for a fast confirmation.

That is an offline transaction which does not go beyond your wallet history. You clicked on preview and created the transaction to appear on history. If you want to make a transaction, you have to sign it and broadcast it. You do not even need to click on preview, you can click on send directly.

On the history tab, right click on the local transaction and cancel it. Make another transaction using a better fee rate. You can use https://mempool.space to set the fee rate (sat/vbytes) to be used.

What wallet did you use for making your transaction?
Local should mean that the transaction hasn't been broadcasted to the network. Note that even if your transaction is broadcasted to the network, you can't get confirmation soon with the fee rate of only 1 sat/vbyte and there's big probability that it will remain unconfirmed and will be dropped from the mempool after 14 days. You need to pay more fee.
