Not so much sure about it, I didnt used but i have seen few forums here about loosing hashrate
Be sure about that or else you could try adding if not with 2 R9 280's you could make your new Rig.
Best Of Luck.

Hello,

I am using Club 3D 7950 and Asus 280x on asus mainboard with 3 pciexpress. I am using 2 cgminers. One for 7950 and another for 280x. Works fine, same hash rate like alone.

I run 3x7950, one 280x, and one 7870 on my z77 gigabyte board.

The key for me was to use a separate instance of cgminer for the 280x. My understanding is that each instance only supports one thread setting, so the 7950s and the 7870 run at -g 1, the 280x at -g 2.

I haven't noticed any effects on hash rate, everything is performing up to spec.

Noted - very useful  info, thanks!

Looks like there are miners doing this successfully.

Running 4x 7950s on a rig with 3 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots still available.

Contemplating adding 2nd PSU and 2x R9 280Xs

Possible or mixing GPUs not a good idea??
