"Would be any problem in using many power supplies for a multi gpu rig instead of one of 1200w??"

If using multiple power supplies you have to trick them into thinking they are connected to the motherboard.

I'm interested in this too, Gator-hex, you mean that i can run without problem for example a 5970, 2 5850 and one 6970 in the same rig? I know that if all gpu are from 5000series there aren't any problem, but i don't know if they will run properly mixing with 6000 series... If they work, I should install drivers for one of them and plug the display on it and the rest of cards will automatically run with the same openGL version? Huh
And another question, if I use an AMD apu, can I plug the screen on it and by this way avoid the display driver crash wich sometimes ocurre while I'm using pc at same time as mining?
Would be any problem in using many power supplies for a multi gpu rig instead of one of 1200w??
Thankss!!!

No problem with GUI Miner and Ati cards.

They only need to be the same for crossfire (doubling gaming performance)

I've mixed 5830s, 6770s, 6850s and 7850s while mining, even play games on GPU0 while mining on the others in the background.

I was using LinuxCoin designed for bitcoin mining that ran off a memory stick, but it also works fine in Windows too.

Just wondering how easy it is to mine with two different video cards in Ubuntu 12.4. A mix of a 5770 and a 5850 on a PCIe 1x and a PCIe 16x... any one tried this? Or is there some stupid requirement that the two cards must be the some or something?
