It is not new that majority of the world population are addicted to using mobile phones for different purposes what matters is if your being addicted to your phone is based on things that can be of help to you, bring possible solutions to problems, help you develop your brain on things that will transform you and make you a better person because despite the high rate of phone addicts, a lot of people only spend more time on social media and chatting platforms just to connect with others without having to make adequate use of the time they spend with their phones.

Yes that's right, it's so important that from the moment we wake up to the moment we go to bed, we always remember our mobile phones. Digital everything makes it possible to bring routines and payments in the palm of your hand, this is practical. Even for worship, we use soft copies on our mobile phones. I myself can spend as much as possible throughout the day and the longer it gets, the more entangled it becomes especially when there is an opportunity to earn money Grin sometimes it doesn't count the duration of time spent.

I agree that the growth of Mobile phone users is growing rapidly, because the price of the device is cheap and supports more sophisticated every new release, and the internet quota is also competing to be easily purchased by everyone including students. Even when covid yesterday all school students were required to study face-to-face using an android, it was a good suggestion but the rest of the children also tended to play gadgets for games and social media excessively, beyond the reasonable limits of such use.

I myself use mobile for 7/8 hours a day.  Maybe there is work or chatting with friends.  It is true that now people have become addicted to mobile.  Many new technologies are coming out day by day.  Due to which mobile addiction is also happening day by day.  People are showing interest to use mobile more after seeing something new on mobile.  I think to save everyone from mobile addiction, we all have to keep children away from mobile first. We also have to read books and set ourselves up with the natural environment.

Not just children, everyone is addicted to smartphones and it completely changed our life style including the sleeping hours. Now it is not possible to go back the good old days but we can restrict the usage to save our health as the primary reason. Once we start doing something then its a good chance that our kids will follow the same.

Having a mobile phone is a very good one. At least it help to facilitate information and also easy way to communicate and source for information faster.
But the rate people get addicted to mobile phone is becoming a very big issues in the society. People get addicted to mobile phone to the extent they forget when to do the right thing. Some even get addicted to mobile phone to the extent they forget their track why walking on the road side or street. Some lost focus in class why teaching is going on. So many people have lost their life's because of how addicted they are to mobile phone. Walking along the road at same time pressing their phone before they could realized they get hit by car. The issues of mobile addiction of caused so many business men and women to lose their customers. Some people will forget to attend to their customers simply because they are either watching movie or chatting why keeping customers waiting. You see some people walking along the road with earphone and playing music causing them not to hear what is happening around them. The issues of mobile phone addiction is a very big one in the society.
Please, we should always know the right time to use our mobile phone because there is time for everything. Your phone is your phone. You can always use it when ever you want but not at the wrong time.

I think phone addiction is a real threat for today's generation, such as gambling, internet gaming, and sexual behaviors, which may lead to compulsive engagement. To the point there is a term for it, which is Nomophobia (No Mobile Phone Phobia).

Me, myself, has been trying to fight the addiction.

There are various reason why this conditions occurs, besides the fact that our work and money exchange has been integrated to internet and mobile apps, there is another factor which highly affecting this addiction, that is the needs to escape the real world problem and to find entertainment within the grasp of our hands. This is highly indicated by the rise of social medias users nowadays.

This is also worsen by the fear of missing out of today's hype in younger generation and the mentality of seeking validation from people

In my opinion, reflecting on my personal experience, I think the best way to avoid it is by preventing ourselves from engaging too much on unnecessary social medias and learning how to self-love without anyone's validation. I won't say that we should go off from social media 100%, since we might still need it to connect with our colleagues, but by understanding the value and the purpose of our mobile phone and how we use it, this is a very important to limiting ourselves from excessive mobile phone use.

If you're struggling with phone addiction, consider implementing strategies like setting specific usage limits, using apps to monitor and control screen time, scheduling regular tech breaks, engaging in offline hobbies or activities, and seeking support from friends or professionals if needed. Finding a healthy balance between digital engagement and real-life interactions is key.
Those are the big points here mate and you are correct in having off line hobbies will change our routes towards mobile addictions , like physical activities such sports and other similar things that will give us more outside engagement.

Yes nowadays it is most common problem of every person ,child . Most people allow their children to use mobile for enjoyment but actually it becomes addiction. So my advice to every person is that if you don't know how to use mobile phone then never use it. We should all aware that doctors are now actually telling about various eye diseases because of overuse of mobile phone. So my advice prevent overuse of mobile phone.

Mobile phone become a necessity nowadays.  It really integrate in our life already.  Approximately, I am using around a minimum of 5 hours in mobile phone. I use it in responding calls and chat related to work, in my masteral degree for thesis and readings, in having leisure readings and games.
wow that is a long time of using mobile mate 5 hours a day? does this mean you are not using laptop or personal computer and only relying in mobile each day.

To further prevent myself from being dependent on it, I always make sure that I have a time off.  Sometimes, I just left my phone in the house and do not touch it for the whole day.  This helps me to detox from it and take my time to experience other things than mobile phone.
also try not to have data so you can only use your mobile while connected in your internet in home , sometimes this is also what  I do to prevent myself to engage in mobile while not in Home.

I do not think that there is a cure for mobile phone addictions at the present time. There are many reasons. In developed countries, for example, the majority are now using the phone for service purposes, for work. There are many companies that offer work opportunities, but only by using the phone, credit cards, wherever. You will find that there is excessive use of the phone in daily life, and it cannot be dispensed with, but in underdeveloped countries, the phone or the Internet, is something completely new and almost only used for trivial use of time. I think it is excessive backwardness in it, and there is no cure. The truth is that the vast majority of well-known personalities will disappear if you cut off their use of the phone, and they will disappear immediately.

Well I do look at my phone alot. I do check it all the time to see how my crypto portfolio is doing on that day. I think I do check it 20 times each days.

I like to play mobile games on there too. I think that is a addiction that I do have is playing mobile games. Advice to the phone addicts is to put it down and not hold it so much. But people like me it is hard we want to see our crypto profits.

-Approximately how many times do you check your phone a day?
-What is your advice to phone addicts?

I agree that it's possible to be "addicted to using smartphones". I remember when I first started using them, I couldn't separate them from my hands. Every day there are many things to see, but mainly for entertainment, the problem is the loss of control while unconsciously using daily actions, abusing it in every time and space.

To escape this situation, find a newer environment associated with offline activities that helps you take a break from online activities. In addition, reading books, painting or cooking are also options. But we still have to know how to balance life factors. Using the phone is not bad, but if we overuse it, we are causing more harm to ourselves.

Mobile and internet connection has taken our life to a stage where we spend even free time watching various types of videos on mobile phones. Nowadays we are so much connected with technology that if we are separated from it for a while we get worried. Being too addicted to something is a bad habit but mobile phone is becoming a necessary companion of people. There is nothing to take it as a bad thing as all activities are now being completed by people through mobile phones.

I’m not sure I can give advice on this because my phone is like my partner I’m always on it so long as I’m not doing any other thing at that moment. Sometimes more than 6hours I’ll just be on my phone I literally call it my partner
Could it be an addict?😩

Hi community,

Mobile phones have become an essential tool that helps us manage our lives and businesses. They are among the most widely used technologies in the world and have become an integral part of our daily lives, whether for communication or basic transactions.

More than 85% of the world's population owns a mobile phone, and half of this percentage is considered addicted to it. The majority of them spend more than 5 hours a day, and there are even those who do not leave it alone and sleep on it.

-Approximately how many times do you check your phone a day?

Well being addicted to anything is very bad and can not be overemphasized, but however the importance of mobile phones is too numerous to mention but the obvious truth is that balancing up what ever thing that you doing is the best rather than doing a particular thing overly, it is extremely dangerous being a mobile phone addicted it is expected to be used when you should and do other things when you should too in order to have a balanced life.

Cell phone addiction this year is very disturbing, why is it so disturbing? 80% of children today are addicted to cell phones where they (children) can spend 6 hours a day holding cell phones. This is clearly very dangerous for children's future regeneration. where on the cellphone there is a lot of news or content that is not educational for the child. As time goes by, we rarely see/see children playing games in the afternoon, such as playing ball, badminton, hide and seek and other games. In fact, nowadays we often see young children sitting at home while spending time with their cellphones. of course this is a problem. For parents, please limit the use of cell phones with children, because it has a very dangerous impact on the future and the child's attitude.

i can't say that the majority of people are addicted to it, because as you said, smartphones are electronic devices that support various human activities and needs today, so many people are dependent on using smartphones because their needs are found in their smartphones.
actually Op is right when he says there are majority of people in the world now is addicted to their
mobile or at least checking their mobile from time to time and I must admit that sometimes I am one of those
back in the days specially in pandemic.

Quote
it's a different case if a person is already addicted to it, meaning he or she can't get away from their smartphone and is tied to it every hour. the smartphone has disturbed sleeping, eating and various other activities, that can only be said to be an addiction. because addiction is different from a need. when you are addicted, you no longer know your priorities and only think about that.
actually it is not the person that chooses to be addicted but it is the games and apps that
available in mobile and of course the internet that gives bigger part on it.

I use a mobile phone a lot. On some days, I even touched 10 hours of usage, my average screen time is over 6 hours. I often try to reduce my mobile usage and sometimes I succeed in this venture, but then after some time, I start using mobile the old way.
For the past few weeks, I have been actively trying to reduce my dependence on mobile phones and trying to read books and articles. I am sure that I will succeed and will reduce my screen time below 3 hours a day.

-Approximately how many times do you check your phone a day?
Out of %100 a day I check my phone %80 infact I am always with my phone like my whole life depends on it. It has been long I developed this habit though but instead of me to become a smoking addict or drinking addict I better be a phone addict because it is impacting alot in my life everyday and I am earning from it likewise what ever that gives you joy should not be underestimated because it is part of your life. Like to always listen to news on the radio everyday. While some will spend there hole day on there working place like the teachers, bankers, taxi drivers etc. So I think everyone has what takes most of his time everyday and that must bee your source of income because what take your time must be your source of income. Except the person is wasting time for nothing. What ever that takes a man time and doesn't brings money or add value to your life should not become something to be addicted to.

-What is your advice to phone addicts?
Whatever you are addicted to, and it's bringing food to the table continue, but if it doesn't bring food to the table and it's not adding value to your life you quit or reduce the level of addiction. And also what ever you are addicted to and it's bringing money don't overdo it, you should also have time for your family, friends and relations, but all will be timed scheduled.

Do you consider everyone who uses their mobile often as addicts? Or there is any other view you have?

Everything has its own time and importance. Here I am not talking about those who see the phone as a means that they benefit from in their daily life, such as work, study, and all other tasks that require a phone. Even these people know very well that the importance of the phone does not exceed the value of their daily tasks and the benefit of using it. I am talking about those who see the phone as important to the point of being unable to do without it, knowing that they spend all their time on websites and watching things that do not benefit them in any way, and we know very well that it negatively affects the brain and way of thinking and generates pressure and disruption in social relationships and isolation. Other negatives.

Mobile phone is an important technological device in our daily use. which we use in our daily communication activities as well as entertainment. But nowadays the young generation has taken it as an addiction. If I consider daily working hours then many people spend more than 7 to 8 hours here just on social media scrolling chatting and doing entertainment activities. I use this device for work. I use a laptop and mobile phone for about 10 hours including my official work and personal work. I use it exclusively for work.
But what I would like to suggest for those who are addicted to mobile phones is awareness behavior of parents and participation in various sports and social activities through which they will stay away from mobile phone addiction.

Exactly, nowadays we don't only use our phones to talk and text. Or browse and play. I use it a lot more for work-related things so definitely for a couple of hours daily. Honestly, I think this fact helps me not develop an addiction because sometimes I can't wait to leave my phone and get some rest. But the issue raised is real, kids are glued to their phones most of the time.

Actually I think I spend more than 5 hours on my phone daily and I even use my other devices. But the thing is I don't use my mobile phone or my other devices solely for leisure. I use them for work and to read on things. I think we have reached a point where it is almost impossible to do anything without a device and the internet.

Nevertheless I still think we should be aware of our surroundings at all times and take some time off away from our phones. From time to time we should let our eyes and our minds rest. I suggest for those who are addicted to their phones is to try and take up a hobby that does not require the internet as much. Maybe some sports could help.

-Approximately how many times do you check your phone a day?
Not that much but as long as I hear some notification of messages, that's when I typically check it.

-What is your advice to phone addicts?
Go outside and find some other ways of killing your time. There's more to life than screen time although it's really addicting and I've been there before but if you happen to have headache, then that only means your body is looking for outdoor activities for you to do other than browsing with your mobile phone.

Constantly mate because I have a lot of transactions in my mobile because it is  my spare unit that i can access anything without being afraid of scammed or hacking.
and for those all addicted in mobile ? they must learn how to value their time and will only use with valuable thing and not just BS gaming or social media? then that is much better here.

I'm not counting it but many times a day you know why? because i offed my notifications
and my vibration so if I am available  then I need to manually check if there is important  text
or messages that i need to entertain but that does not mean I am addicted.
