I resign. This is a thankless job.

Then I look forward to discussion and debate with you in the Politics forum. And I agree, it is a thankless job.

If I've violated some policy let me know. As far as I know, I was following the moderation policy of allowing users to set local rules and then allowing moderators to enforce those rules at their discretion.

Very selective moderation of those you don't like. Please resign.

An effective moderator of the Politics forum would be one who is politically neutral and uninterested in posting their own political viewpoints.

Even better: the forum gets along just fine without moderation, as evidenced by NghtRppr's 8 month absence.

Or four moderators, all extremists at each end of the political compass, who all must agree on every decision... (is that the same as no moderator at all? lol)

Maybe. Over moderation is worse than no moderation in a heated forum such as politics. Conversations will go off-topic. Exchanges will be heated. Let it be.

And please, send NghtRppr his walking papers. Let him moderate any other forum, but not the politics forum.

I'm off to the pub now but his behaviour is definitely odd.

A moderator starts a thread asking people to refute his argument.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--91501

His argument doesn't go the way he wants and locks the thread.  He then opens the same thread again.

I have made a reply that is on topic.  Its deleted.

Is there a point to this behaviour?

NghtRppr (aka bitcoin2cash) has got to go.

He did no moderation for 8 months because he essentially was AWOL. He then returns, and if anyone he doesn't like makes posts that don't agree with his silly political ideas, he deletes the posts.

He also (in a draconian manner) moderates any mildly off-topic remarks - but only the off-topic remarks made by those he does not like.

And let me be clear: apparently moderation is only a priority when he's posting. See above: he was AWOL for 8 months.
