Hi Everyone,

I'm the founder of Monaco.

I would like to invite you all to our slack channel at slack.mona.co - most of the issues you have raised were addressed there already.

We've got a high-caliber team and advisory board working on this project. Our co-founder and CFO is ex-Mastercard, we've got ex-Visa folks on the advisory board, alongside executives from AWS, Adyen, Emarsys. The team worked hard for almost a year to build a great product and bring it to the market and I think given the response we have received so far from the community (1500+ contributions), it was time & capital well spent.

Cryptocurrencies are no longer a niche market. Top 3 exceed $60b in market cap cumulatively. What the market needs is a company that is serious about KYC, risk, compliance to come up with a product that bridges the gap between crypto & mass market. That's Monaco. That's who we are, that's our raison d'être.

For all the people who are still sceptical about the project, please follow our progress over the next couple of months, slack.mona.co is the best place to do it. We're keen listeners and are very serious about building a product that the community will love. We have hit our ICO goals already, we do not need your contribution, but we do want you as a user of our product to start, and eventually as a fervent advocate, once you have a Monaco card sitting in your wallet.

Kris

PS. Thank you for the suggestion to update my LinkedIn profile. We are in the process of unifying our entire online presence under Monaco brand and phasing out the Foris name. It should look real good next week.

So when it comes to begging for investment you make yourself available and known but as soon as you get the cash you stop posting here.

Shame on you

Monaco ICO Update
Monaco began its ICO on May 18th, 2017.  Their platform is a visa card that will automatically be funded in real time by your cryptocurrency wallet with best in industry exchange rates.
They passed their minimum funding goal of 5,000 ETH easily and have now passed their secondary goal of 30,000 ETH with a total of approximately 32,500 ETH raised.

SCAM

Monaco card seems to be a huge scam, raising all the money from the ICO and then not doing anything apart from making a glossy website and spend $1.5 million of the ICO funds to aquire the crypto.com domain
and i think the recent news that said about that has been creating a partnership with visa is a joke. The only project that makes you able to spend your altcoin is only tenx pay but due to the visa crest and investors can't do it again and they must waiting for a new card that will be distributed at the end of this year

Monaco team have not handled this properly. They must have seen the $26 million raised in the ICO and got a shock at how successful it was then they took their eye off the ball.

They oversold the VISA approval before it even happened then ran into difficulty as there were delays before it was granted. No accountability has been presented to the investors about how, why and where the money has been spent and how much is left.

Monaco Visa Card might not be a joke (time will tell) but the Monaco team definitely are a joke. I do not trust the Monaco team at all.

They have taken an aggressive marketing approach since they opened the ICO, which was launched with very little pre-marketing.

Well I just posted a link to one of the alternatives. Token card is one of them. AFAIK there are a few trying to push similar tech. Something I found quite interesting though is that Wavecrest is trying to push their own brand of a so called crypto currency card called bitpay: https://bitpay.com/card/ which has nothing to do with a cryptocurrency startup. Thoughts?

Just as a followup to the Token Card 'scandal'. Their post ICO launch had a rocky start due to the tech not being developed as quickly as investors/potential users would have liked but they seem to be moving in the right direction at the moment. https://medium.com/@MonolithStudio/wavecrest-partnership-announcement-733a8e6e5554

IMO this development could spell success for token card and similar products (monaco) in general

What you guys think?
Quote from the article you mentioned:
"We have placed a substantial batch card order for the first wave of MVP TokenCards and subsequent Beta kick-off."

That definitelky would lead us to believe that there is a future for cards like Monaco Visa.

I saw the video advert and was impressed so am going to visit my Parents next week and if it's still on will get my Father to invest a little bit. I would love one of these cards myself as I need a nice BTC debit card and ETH as well because am investing in e20 tokens.

But but, why bring your poor father down with you? Tongue

Is this project same as token card? But it looks similar with token card project. More project with no product for the investors and just end with useless token to dump and pump. I don't ever seen the project can use their token as a tool for their platform.

This smacks of scam infact quite a lot of these ICOs do...

These ICOs are getting diluted and people are getting savvy as project founders disappear with the cash and leave investors bagholding for eternity.

Let's get some working products that we can actually use and see the potential in before we start giving you money.

Fancy wordpress sites are ten a penny these days. Try harder.

Monaco is a good scam or they will not develop what they have promised. I've spoken with Wirecard directly and they do not support any cryptocurrencies.
They're pretty good scammers, I like the limited card offer to fastest and biggest 500 investors Smiley Many didn't read the WP not to be late.

As the Monaco Visa ICO continues I would like to bring you some of the questions that have been asked by early contributors and people interested to the CEO Kris Marszalek.  You can follow the conversation on their Slack channel as well. https://slack.mona.co/
These quuestions have been asked between Friday, May 19th and today, May 21.  I hope this may clarify some of the simpler questions and help clarify some of their current issues and future plans.
Monaco Visa CEO Q&A:
Q. One user asked the following question: “What is the status with Visa? Are you working on a deal or is it fixed?”  A follow up question clarified:  “If there is already a deal, what is your estimate of the risk of being kicked out of the VISA network in a way or another?”
A. Kris replied: “We have a signed deal with a principal issuer of VISA; as long as we comply with their program rules, we will stay there – to be clear that means we will not be doing crazy stuff like some other crypto cards out there – we will have 100% KYC on every single customer who wants to open an account.”

To read the rest of the Q&A see: https://urbancrypto.com/monaco-visa-answers-ceo-kris-marszalek/
Is urbancrypto affiliated with Monaco in any way?
We are not affiliated nor do we endorse any ICO.  We are just reporting what we see going on.

From their webpage we can see the links to the team members's linkedin profiles. Only CEO Kris Marszalek even mentions Monaco on his Linkedin profile, no-one else from the team! And even on Kris Marszalek's Linkedin profile it only mentions "Monaco" at the top, nothing under experience and no link to the Moncao website. Scam!!!

Well, Monaco passed there minimum fund goal of 5,000 ETH in an hour and a half yesterday.  Up to this point they have raised contributions of approximately 12,500 ETH or $1,400,000 with 893 participants.  They are a way away from the soft cap of 150,000 ETH.  Where will the ICO end?  I guess time will tell.
Still garnering contributions as they pass the 13,000 ETH point.  CEO says you aint seen nothing yet.  Could get interesting in the coming days.

lol the CEO is prob either you, or most definitely PAID you, where's the addresses of "all this money" raised or are you just bullshitting to try FOMO?

Dude, we see this everyday, 1 million raised they say!  o can we SEE the proof?  crickets! hhaha

w.e man, they could raise 10 mil you will only get noobs, theres literally nothing but hot air here for actual info :/

meh, idiots buy anything chasing that Nigerian prince's promises to make them rich! ;p

No payment, I am on my own.  I hear the schepticism, with all these ICos hitting the market. Closing in on 16,000 ETH raised.  We will have to see how they progress and where it goes in terms of if it is "real" or not.

The much anticipated Monaco ICO, Initial Coin Offering, will start in the coming hours. Monaco is the creator of the Monaco Visa Card.  The card operates and is accepted just like a regular Visa card around the world.  The functionality of the card is that it can be used to purchase goods in 23 currencies or 120 countries worldwide with no cost to the user for this ability.  As you use the card, it automatically exchanges your Ether or Bitcoin into that currency and your purchase goes through.

What are your thoughts?
