After Monero hard forked on April 6th, there are XMR (the new Monero chain) and XMC (original chain).

Supporters of XMC:
Community: AMT community, LoMoStar community
Mining pool: Antpool, Poolin, Frogpool, 91pool, F2POOL
Exchange: CoinEx, Xstar, gate.io
Wallet: LoMoStar

Website: monero-classic.org
Telegram group: t.me/xmccurrency
Twitter:https://twitter.com/xmccurrency

XMC in Exchanges:
CoinEx: https://www.coinex.com/trading?currency=bch&dest=xmc&tab=limit
Gate.io: https://gateio.io/trade/XMC_BTC
Xstar: (trade will be open soon).

Monero Classic team chose to maintain the original chain and did not follow the upgrade initiated by Monero team. We believe the emergence of specialized mining machines for a cryptocurrency is a normal market economy phenomenon and it could greatly improve network security. With specialized mining machines , the events like “Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets” could be avoided. On the opposite, Monero developers' constant change of algorithm creates more centralization.

Luckily in constrast to Ehereum coders Franko coders are error resistant:

@chrisfranko https://github.com/expanse-project/go-expanse/blob/master/COPYING#L4 you can’t change the GPL copyright,
only for individual new files that you add to your repository. In expanse-project/go-expanse@d368397 commit you basically
changed all headers from "go-ethereum" to "go-expanse" and you've changed the AUTHORS file to go-expanse.
Not only is this not true, this is also highly unfair to those that have contributed their time to the go-ethereum project.
I ask you kindly that you revert all these changes.

Jeffrey Wilcke @obscuren May 25 13:50
If you’d like to claim copyright to individual changed files please mody the header such that you’re credited and rightfully
copyrighted to the right places using Portions (c) go-expanse
lol

But don’t remove the current copyright
I suspect you did a grep on ethereum and replaced it all with expanse and that you’re not even awara of these changes.
Considering that I have an expanse email address I’m unaware of

...

Christopher Franko @chrisfranko May 25 18:14
@obscuren oh crap! Im very sorry. Yes thats exactly what happened, ill fix that in a little while for you. Because you are completely
right it would be unfair. ^_^ Also if you want I can forward that email to your ethereum email

The risks of sed -i 's/ethereum/expanse/g'

lol

A Coin A Day Keeps The Cold Away.
I brought this shit up 10 months ago when forking eth for expanse, everyone just said I was fudding. I'm just glad to see folks with more klout calling eth out on their bs.

Every TX that happened on the chain, legal/illegal, those 4 people are 100% LIABLE for. Its funny they call it the theymos bug but when I brought it up, it was a feature! It was never a bug, it was always a feature and now they are trying to save face.

You are a little bit late to the party. (exactly 10 days late Wink )

Remove Frontier canaries, which were left in by mistake. by bobsummerwill · Pull Request #259 · ethereum/libethereum

[–]bobsummerwillEthereum - Bob Summerwilll 22 points 11 days ago*
This is in follow-up to the earlier thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4kbcal/theymos_vs_ethereum_round_2236_validity_check/

Thanks for the bug report, /u/theymos.

Triage for all 8 clients ongoing at https://github.com/ethereum/webthree-umbrella/issues/523.

As I said elsewhere, this was just a fuck-up, and it has been addressed now. geth had the canaries removed at Homestead, [emp. by me  Grin] but the work to remove the code from the other clients wasn't followed through...
...

Forgot to remove the canary, but have been fixed today

Ok, best advice you'll ever get in your life: When r0ach is FUD-ing a coin, simply buy tons of it. He've seen its potential and now he's afraid he'll be left behind ( 2016 and he still owns 0 ether) . Atleast thats my only explanation of why he's making FUD threads about ethereum one after another.

This is good advice.

Bitcoin maximalist will be hating. Smart people realized that the only way is to have cooperations between the main cryptocurrencies. Ethereum can do things that Bitcoin can't and Bitcoin is a better form of value storage.

What can ethereum do other than make it easier to scam people through DAOs?

Well there is always the possibility to setup ETH masternodes. Wonder why Butalik has not tapped into that yet. Minimum 10,000 ETH to setup a masternodes taking away ETH liquidity from the market further and making your investment that much more  Roll Eyes

Then sell tranches of masternodes with the highest/best infrastructure to those who can't afford it. Get AAA rating with the help of Sachs ... Huh

they can already nuke bad chains remotely
fluffypony: please elaborate?
https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Bad-Chain-Canary
And cryptographic proof of fraud is provided how?
Looks eminently scammable to me.
https://github.com/ethereum/libethereum/blob/3bddce831c7f3e8e7f38a3b9b5df8ea0ced324fb/libethashseal/Ethash.cpp#L279
So it's already a centralized chain...I assume all existing  Eth implementations check this canary address?
I can't see how this is better than Peercoin signing blocks/
it's an opt-out mechanism, from what I understand
but of course nobody opts out

Do you attach any importance to the fact that a "Monero" dev recently discovered something about Ethereum?

Seems rather random to me.

thermos brought this up on reddit recently, and seemed to have it debunked by one of the eth go devs:

Please don't spread misinformation https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/pull/2416
Edit: I can only speak for the go-ethereum team/implementation of course, but given our 98.74% network penetration, it's safe to assume that the network does not have the canary enabled.

Not that I'm fan of eth (or thermos), but I'm not sure this is still an applicable criticism.

Interesting.

I sold half a couple months ago on that first spike. Installed the software, caught up to the chain pretty quickly, recovered my "pre sales" coins, and sent them to market, all within a couple hours.

Price started going back up, so I try to start up the software again, and couldn't catch up to the chain. I tried 3 different versions of the client, it starts to sync and then just stalls out. Luckily I was able to submit a send without being caught up, glad I'm now fully out of this pipe dream.

Your mileage may vary.
