"They will just rollback the chain"

Statements like that sure show how much the Monerotards "get it."

Yeah...but guess how much they'll be crowing if the Big Attack turns into a wet firecracker?

Roll back the chain once and whatever reputation your coin has it just goes down the drain.

this is bullshit, sometimes it's inevitable to roll back

FYI Bitcoin had to go for a rollback in the early days to fix a critical bug.

If Monero should ever be significantly damaged (very unlikely), bugs will be fixed and chain rolled back. Certainly nothing to worry much about.

Except for those who lost money due to the roll back, you mean? Sure.

That's life.

That's also why XMR's price is dropping. Rollbacks don't fill people with confidence. The coin would survive, but crypto lives and dies by the confidence of its investors.

I think you've bought too much monero over price 10mbtc and now you're trying to sell your shitty coins others with a high price.

Yep. This destroys the entire concept of decentralisation. Could also lead to a potential fork, couldn't it? I know they were trying to make a "worst-case scenario" point, but right now this section is like watching headless chickens.

Couldn't have expressed it better myself, 100% agreeing:

This whole thing will turn out bad for those perpetrating it.  Hodlers will be rewarded.  Mark my words.

Look, if BCX has found an exploit he can pass it to the XMR dev team and they are going to patch their software accordingly immediately.

If it exists and BCX exploits it and messes up the blockchain for a few hours (which someone else already did a few weeks ago, nothing special), they're simply going to roll back the blockchain. They've already reviewed the ring signature algorithms ad nauseum, wrote internal memos on any weaknesses ad reviewed the difficulty algorithm.

All XMR holders ought to be grateful for the Bitcointalk Fud circus here giving us all a 3-month high of Poloniex volumes -- but let's not be surprised if the point of all this is just to rip the shirt off of a lot of people's backs.

There is no Danger in the *oh so dangerous* wannabe-Exploit. Cheap XMR (this was BCX goal after all) for everyone right now, good for even better distribution of the coin that already had hands down the best distribution. In just a matter of weeks/days all this FUD will be laughed upon and BCX will look even more like a retard than he's now.
