Well, winter is starting here in Portugal. We will have room temperature for about 16-17 ºC MAX everyday. But we will buy 4 FANs for 10$ to be sure everything runs cool.

I'm still the highest bidder on this one, no idea why no one has shown interest, maybe cause the card is...really ugly, but a 390x is a 390x. Take it from me if you want, i'm unlikely to purchase anyway. You'll need a PO box/family member/friend to receive it for you tho.

The mobo/cpu combo are fine. With those temps you don't really need to invest in cooling, just put whatever fan you got handy, PC or not andblow torwards the cards. I would advise against HD 79xx and 280x cards, they consume too much power for what they hash. Try R9 380s, R7 370s, if you can power them, 290/390(x), they are selling as low as 200$ on ebay. Also, since the anouncement of the 1070 ti (god knows why they made that) people are selling their 1070s for as low as 350$, even lower.

You didn't factor in cooling in your calculation. You need to cool your computer to keep in in shape...
Monero fell from about $9 to $7, but that does not mean it won't spring back up.

it will work..since it is a bit old system make sure the cpu has good cooling available ...else there is possibility of reaching the max tdp & restart

I would go for it. 1000 h/s is pretty close to 2$ today.

You and your friends actually got nothing to loose, well ok 14$ per investor is the worst case.

Any old hardware works as long as it has pcie slots. If you are familiar with bios modding and flashing I would go linux otherwise windows. Windows has better software tools for volt and clock management.
