A malware application Monero Miner was found on Google Play, which produced crypto currency, but not at the user's expense. ESET employees immediately reported fraud to Google representatives, then Monero Miner (XMR) was removed from the official application store.
Sergey Kuznetsov, the head of the technical support department for products and services of ESET Russia, told that with the help of harmful applications, the attackers took all the crypto currency extracted by the users-miners. Although the application is removed from the official store, it, as before, works on thousands of devices. Other scammers specifically develop applications to deceive novice miners.
Be vigilant and download similar applications, having previously reviewed the feedback of other users.
