Hey 2Kool4Skewl. Thanks for the reply.

The amount was for $450. The card (greendot visa debit) already had about $1000 loaded to it from previous loads from the same client.

I first tried to load the value to my paypal account but i had hit the limit of 4k/month load. I then went to load it to the greendot visa debit I mentioned above and it failed to load and gave me a number to call. I called the number and they said that the moneypak i attempted to load was flagged by the buyer of the moneypak as involved with a scam. They told me that the account was now frozen (including the already loaded $1,000) and that the only way to unfreeze the account was to provide them an image of the physical moneypak card and the receipt. I asked the client if he/she could provide but they claim they do not have these.

Was the moneypak code worth $1k?   Or was it a lesser dollar amount and Moneypak seized all of your funds anyway?

Were the funds they seized loaded onto a prepaid debit card like Amex Serve?

Has anyone else had any experiences like this?

Hello all,

This is my first post here, been lurking for a while.

I have run into an issue with receiving moneypak for bitcoin. I have been using localbitcoins.com to buy/sell bitcoins and the local option with cash has been working great. I have also been accepting moneypak from a customer in switzerland (Best Seller) on localbitcoins.com. On March 31st one of the moneypaks that I was given to load to a raised a fraud/scam flag in greendots system. The moneypak showed up in my transactions but was reversed on the 3rd of April. Now greendot will not release the existing funds on the card (previously loaded about $1k) until I provide an image of the moneypak card i attempted to load on 3/31 as well as the associated receipt. Best Seller has informed me that they do not keep the receipts.

Please be careful when accepting Moneypak. One wrong moneypak code and they can take any money in your account and keep it indefinitely it seems.

Any advice?

Thanks all,
bitcoinmike
