Popular cryptocurrency exchange and brokerage service Coinbase may soon remove support for decentralized applications for its Apple users. The firm cited the App Store policy as the reasoning behind the decision.

I hope their will be solution for this because it will affect many US users

i wonder why Apple is so against crypto-apps. is it a threat thing? or a consumer protection thing? both i guess?
They are probably hoping to push their "apple pay" crap, wonder if that runs on a blockchain yet...
i dont really like coinbase, but they are no doubt a leading force in this financial war tho!

I can speculate that there are some people behind putting pressure on big US companies to stay away with crypto. So this is just one example, you just have to look at how US senators are totally putting a big barrier on Libra. So for me, this is an attempt to stifle the growth of crypto specially in the US. I hope that I'm wrong because US is such a big market. Maybe everyone can work things out here so that crypto enthusiast will continue to enjoy, win-win for us.

Bitcoin FTW!
Definitely just seems like Google and Apple are against cryptocurrency and especially decentralized ones considering that this article also mentions the MetaMask android client was also taken off the Google App Store for apparently first mining and then 'deceptive or harmful financial products and services', though it does seem like MetaMask's appeal has since been granted after people started making noise. Seems very concerning to me considering these app stores might start going after more crypto-related apps like potentially wallets in the future too.

This is a prime example portraying what can and will happen when over regulate, because the end result is the stifling of innovation. Apple is potentially shooting itself in the foot at his point (from a technological standpoint) regarding it's stance on cryptocurrency. It's a modest and conservative move they've taken, being that crypto is quite the controversy these days. Their approach seems to be to avoid crypto related things at all costs until more regulation rolls in. The problem is that Apple was founded and branded on it's innovation. Cryptocurrency is a spicy subject and conversational piece, If Apple is wrong, when projects like Libra finally do start to take off, Apple will be behind again in the innovation race.

There will be no a lot of solution about that until those companies (apple and google) will unban crypto. Both companies are giving non sense reason for that. it looks like they are feeling worry if crypt will grow even more.
if that is for android user and there was a lot of solution for that but not for apple. US customer can only access the dapps from their desktop.
It's not clear what's the real reason behind google and apple to make that policy.
Metamask's case is the best example about that.
Maybe, some people take advantage of the growth of Blockchain and DApps to deceive others, such as stealing user information, etc. Regarding the fact that Google has stopped all ads related to cryptocurrency, or Youtube removed all videos related to crypto, in my opinion, both almost aim to keep safe for the user.

Such as EtherDelta and IDEX were once well-known decentralized exchanges but have all become fraudsters after their ICOs. Perhaps, that thing made companies like Apple and Google try to eliminate DApps besides to pressure from the government. They worry they can't protect the user when these DApps do the same thing as what EtherDelta or IDEX did. Of course, just my guess.

I feel both the technology gaints are bringing their own version of centralised crypto’s in 2020 or 2021, and hence they have decided to erase the trace of bitcoins and other crypto’s from their databases. However this move shall backfire on them as we saw with YouTube who were forced to restore the videos relating to crypto’s after the protests done by the crypto community.

For some reason now there are many restrictions on crypto such as YouTube, Google and Apple, are they afraid of the development of crypto so that it removes it from their list?
As you are sharing the link about Apple banning iOS users for Coinbase obviously this could affect USA users because it would be difficult to access the Coinbase exchange, so I hope it will be finished soon right and there is a solution.
