We thought this new year was going to be different, but this year was ushered with a lot of disheartened stories that traveled around numerous kidnap incidents in the country. The first one was the killing of Nabeeha, second one is the abduction of six sisters in Abuja, third one is Folorunsho Ariyo, another victim, caretaker chairman of Ukum LGA of Benue State, Rev. Gideon, which are all over the news and so on.

These issues are mostly generated around the wide range of poverty and hunger in the country. It has attributed to the kidnappings and insecurities which by extension is the cause why many people start to think of JAPAing.

Although, I still see the JAPA syndrome as a thing of individual choice, but sometimes all these sad and horrific things makes one to begin to think whether one should go ahead and JAPA. But you need to know where to migrate to because everything outside Nigeria works with more precision and you cannot just jump into another man's land when you are not a citizen of the country.

Some people go through the Mediterranean Sea, which is a cartel of business people who arrange for the illegal immigration of the people and take them out of the country through the oceans and seas, most of these people ends up as refugees many of which are caught and deported back to Nigeria.

The other way people do JAPA is through the legal process, leaving the country for a study leave and from there, get something to do.

In the words of late General Sani Abacha a man known for his ruthlessness as a literal dictator during his reign as military head of state from 1993-1998 where he ruled the country without any restraints he said and I quote “Any Insurgency that lasts more than 24hrs, A government official has a hand in it”
Nigeria has been suffering from insurgency for more than 14years dating back to the first attack by book haram in 2009 with this note and this time frame it only proves that not only was the late General right but things have gotten even worst than he ever envisioned while making such statement.

I’d like to let us know that the government are counting on more of us to leave because if you check and verify most of the people living are either very intelligent or skilled meaning they are the best of us if you look at that you’ll understand that with them gone who will educate the nation aside the one’s already planted by the corrupt leaders to misinform the public, In the last administration we had a minister of information whose job was to misinform us remember he told us about how snake swallowed money and how rat was eating money in ask rock this problem of japa is a national problem but not for the cabal but for true patriotic Nigerians.

Guy man this japa of a thing is now normalizing in our society because if today you talk about insecurity, tomorrow bad government, but the one thing wey dy really worrysome, wey dy really make people run from this country na the hardship wey we dy go through. To tell you the truth, the cost of living is trying to kill the living as it stance, so make we no surprise as people dy japa.
See no be everybody sabi withstand hardship, some people mentally dem be like vegetables, any small suffering dem don break down,  as for me, e no get how e wan be, wey e never be before,  na to just weather the storm and pray for better days

Your write-up is a bit congested and it's difficult to read through it but talking about the whole Japa stuff and associating I with the insecurity at our interstate borders as pointed out in that nysc booklet, it's not strange to us and it's really that we've come to live with the menace and we are gradually allowing it to become a part of us.

Apart from insecurity, their are lots of reasons behind people leaving the country and at the centre of those reasons is the fact that they are going out to look for greener pastures.

The believe that traveling out will better their life is a greater motivation than any interstate security situation. People want just make money and if na travelling out go fit help them do am they no mind.

But life expectancy outside de better than wetin we get here plus the feeling that you won't be experiencing all these polutions and noises when full nija fit motivate to japa on a normal.

The word Japa is was Origanated from the Yoruba's and currently it's now adopted by everyone in our country as a synonyms for fleeing or relocating from the country. For the past few years, A lot of people especially the youths in the country are now fleeing for a better life else where due to Inflation, Bad governance and insecurity. Majority of the people fleeing are young and vibrant youth and we all know that, lack of man power in a country could lead to poor economic growth, humans are resources and currently our leaders are making other countries enjoy the good human resources our country's got.
However according to the image above , I'm going to emphasis more on insecurity, cause it's one of the major reasons for this Japa syndrome, i came across it on twitter an decided to bring it to the notice of members especially those who travel on road trips and through the above stated routes to be careful. Meanwhile an insecured society or environment is prone to poor growth in economy as well. Over the years, the issue of insecurity has called for alarm and yet, the authorities have shoved it aside.Terrorism is now taken like a joke and everyone is made to take it lightly cause no proper measures have been taken. Children are not left out from the acts of these terrorists as they’re in fact the main victims. The youth and older ones too are not left out in all these.
Now, students are scared to serve their fatherland because there’s really no benefit and safety anymore. The joy of serving the country has been robbed of the graduated now because of the insecurity affecting the country. See how, kidnapping and collecting ransom seems like the normal trend these days cause it keeps reoccurring, and nothing has been done about it, travelling far distances on road now seems like a suicide mission and very suprised to see that Aba to PortHarcourt route in not safe too.The authorities need to tighten up and bring more measures to curb this and bring anyone found guilty to book, that's if they'll even carry out their job properly. My fellow citizens, where do we go from here, is there hope for the youths concerning their future, or is the japa syndrome the only alternative now? What do you have to say about this.
