Has anyone noticed that the majority of the altcoin charts are on the downtrend. Even the darling of the altcoin crowd, (ETH) is down from $15.00 to $10.00 in a month. (more or less) Only Bitcoin seems to be on an uptrend, but most altcoins are going down, down, down on my charts. I wonder why? Have most traders grown tired of buying into altcoins only to find out it's another pump and dump? Perhaps it's the fact that people are wising up to the fact that most altcoins are worthless and will never replace bitcoin. I am beginning to think Bitcoin is like Facebook or Twiter and will never be replaced by any other cryptocoin.

Ideas? Thoughts?
the reason behind the down of the rate of bitcoin is only .
because to make the value of altcoin to be balanced the rate of altcoin is to change into low btc rate .
thus increasing btc price leads into down of rate of alt but the value price is same .

So what you are saying is the price of alt rounds up in $  or BTC ??
In order to have the same value in fiat ? like before btc rise ??

Wrong.. Litecoin is kicking ass and taking names while scam coin ICO's like Ethereum are butt raped by reality.

if you want a case by case basis there are many different reasons for each of these coins, since you named ETH, it was in a bubble and it is bursting and going back down to the bottom of the pit before the next wave of pumps begin.
the main reason is below this:

traders (real traders not gullible people who buy with hopes up that their coin replaces bitcoin) are never tired of altcoins and they know from the start what they are getting into, they know "replacing bitcoin" is just an statement used to hype up the price.

the main reason for these drops is that bitcoin is rising Cheesy
so everyone is cashing out of altcoin market and starting to buy bitcoin in order to not miss out on the rise.

For me bitcoin will always be at the center of the cryptosphere for a very long time. There are some people who view altcoins as nothing but experimental projects for the Bitcoin developers to watch and get ideas from and implement the technology that they think would be good for bitcoin. Bitcoin will remain strong because it has a real economy behind it. All the other altcoins have nothing.

This  is correct,   altcoin are   just alternatives and  partially dependent  to  bitcoin. Its  not  really surprising    for altcoins  to drop its price  hence bitcoins price  is  increasing now .Same as  others said  here that  many alt users would surely  sell of their coins  because   bitcoins  price tend to move  upwards  and they are securing their profits and   taking this advantage   thats why  most  of alts  now are  reducing  its  price.

This is a good thing to see. We don't need many alts, 1 or 2 a the most. Too many just waters down cryptos appeal.

Bitcoin Transactions Confirmation Delays
Were you one of those who experienced problems with getting confirmations on your Bitcoin transactions?
Well, it was a general issue, at least recently when Blockchain had almost 50,000 unconfirmed transactions and the number is receding.

The rush of complaints about transaction confirmations taking longer than usual comes at a time when the price of Bitcoin is edging closer to the $ 700 mark. As at the time of this publication, the price of the top digital currency stands at $ 687 and that’s about a 5 percent increase since the beginning of the week from $ 656 on Sunday Oct. 23. When these two coincide, there are bound to be speculations that they are, in a way, related.

 Cool

FYI:
There are a few that like to believe BTC is Magic,
I call BS, it is a technology that is Slow and Outdated and Centralized to Chinese Mining Pools.
Enjoy the BTC Hype Machine, it won't last.

FYI2:
By the way The current all-time high was set on 17 November 2013 at US$1216.73,
so technically it has been in the Shitter for almost 3 years now.

Don't worry, that's a known scheme when Bitcoin is going high, but really fast, like that time, altcoins exchanges are a real bloodboth.

It's obvious While bitcoin is in an uptrend, in addition to natural price reduction of the altcoin against bitcoin it also creates additional pressure on altcoin market, because many (including panicking ones) tend to move into bitcoin and sell altcoins for it.

The situation will change after next major btc dip or flat. The altcoins will slowly catch up again
