I just added Richard Branson.

He's another billionaire, however the main reason isn't his money. Making a buck won't ever make someone the most important person alive.

He created more than 400 corporations on many fields, helping changing the world.

On space exploration he is dragging far comparing with Elon Musk. Space exploration isn't a major important area.

He is concerned with the Environment and is trying to be a pioneer on using more friendly fuels on his Virgin Air.

The main responsible for the invention of the mRNA vaccines deserves to be on the list.

Nevertheless, the issue is controversial: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-02483-w

One of the names usually quoted is also a controversial person, Robert Malone: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_W._Malone

I think that none of them. I think there is simply no such person. I don't like such kind of questions. It's like pick favourite movie or song - I can't pick just one.
And for me it's a bit strange that you haven't included any politics because they have a lot of power to be most important person. While you added some names that I never hear before and had to Google them.

I just added Larry Page.

You can dislike Google for very good reasons, including massive surveillance. But if Zuckerberg is on the list, Page deserves to be on it for greater reasons. Google doesn't only spy on us, like Facebook, it also gave us some extraordinary educational and useful tools, including Google Books or Maps.

And after more than 20 years, Google's general search still beats all competition on a way that makes most of them look like complete incompetents. Just try Bing.
That's actually interesting choice. Page and his Google seriously changed our life.

To determine the "MOST IMPORTANT PERSON ALIVE" we must follow a certain criteria to do so:
(This is what I think some of the criteria)
1. If he/she dies, will the world be shaken by his/her death?

I agree with you, truth is nobody is indespensable and as important as we think they are. I don't think there is anyone that has super general importance worldwide that his or her death can cause a general outrage that will force persons to go against their normal activities. We may mourn at the loss of such great men and women, and have sympathy on their families, but it won't stop people from eating or the time from turning.

Also the names of people on that list have different importance to different persons in different locations, that is something to know as well.

On some comments.

Mario Draghi is on the List for the same reason Ben Bernanke is. I explained on the OP. The first saved the euro and probably the European Union as President of the European Central Bank during the 2009-2012 financial crisis. Bernake saved the world economy with his expansive monetary police. We had all the necessary requisites to have a new 1929 world economic disaster. We hadn't.

On Jesus: I know that more than 3 persons voted for him, but according to Science, he is not alive. Sorry, but he doesn't qualify. I couldn't accept Santa Claus either, but he is very important in the mind of many children.

Anyway, they claim that the father, the son (Jesus) and the holy ghost are the same person ("god"), accordingly to add someone should be "god". Or is he dead to believers? However, he doesn't also qualify for the same reason.

I added Noam Chomsky. He is indeed a very important thinker and linguistic.

However, give me a break with his "anarchist" ideas... even if one says that most of people are good, one only needs 5% of bad, armed and organized people to destroy a society, if there isn't a Leviathan to put them in check.

Moreover, Chomsky's ideas are near the Union/Socialistic Anarchism. It has nothing to do with anarchy-capitalism, that most bitcoiners defend.

On political figures: normally, they are important mostly as menaces, since they can do a lot of bad things. On my book, this doesn't count. As positive doers, politicians are really important mostly in times of crises and wars.

But if any of them gets 3 votes, I'll add him, even Putin or Xi Jinping.

The Old Testament is a record of what happened to people when they followed the instructions of God, and what happened when they didn't. We are so blessed that we have this record. We should be happy when the same destructions fall on us as did on Ancient Israel, when we don't obey like they didn't.

The whole Covid scam is the example. If people had believed God more than the doctors, they would have avoided the Covid scam. As it is, there are hundreds of thousands dead from the vaccines already, and millions more to follow over the next 2 or 3 years.

There is no one more important to me than me and I'd guess if you really thought about it, there is no one more important to you than you.

At the moment Jeff Bezzos changes how I shop and live my life every day.
Noam Chomsky has shaped some of my base ways of thinking
Bill gates runs all my software, pays for polio doses and now industrialized farming.

But the questions is "Who is the most important person alive?", not "Who is the most important person alive for you?"

So your answer is still yourself, then its wrong as 1% of the worlds population wouldn't even notice if you suddenly banish or die. Nonetheless, this involves a famous person or involves a social situation where a huge population is affected.

The personality in an individual is whom I think is the most important person  alive,I don't see any other person as the most important, except for someone who place priority in someone else, and not believing in himself and his personal ability.

We live to keep a legacy that when we'll leave, people will always remember  our importance. So your personal ability  determines how importance will be placed i the society.
There is no one that is more important than yourself.

The most important person usually lives in the human mind although satoshi nakamote, the father of bitcoin has no real information about it he is still alive among the people. He has a lot of achievements in making bitcoin in fact, it is very difficult to say there are many living people who are very important to this world elon musk with his extraordinary foresight scientific thinking unprecedented improvements in spacex and tesla has really taken this world a long way and I think he will give some more wonderful gifts in the years to come.

I respect your point of view, of course, saving the planet is one of the most important duties that the human race must pursue because it threatens its life, but for me I see that saving the soul is more important than saving the body, so I chose the philosopher Noam Chomsky, philosophers have a great role in educating the human mind, philosophy And science is what brought humans to this great civilized and technological development in which we live. Philosophers are constantly striving to make man more advanced and more civilized. They are trying to build man and man is the most important thing in this existence.
Elon Musk, despite his efforts you mentioned to decarbonize our planet, but I see him as a businessman.

Jesus is the most important person alive.

Cool

Yes it's true and the most important things is Jesus cause he's the reason why we in here in this world. The reason why we still breath and there's a new chapter of life.

And also, just saying, with regards to the Bible. Jesus is not the reason why we are here breathing. Its God who create us, Jesus is his son who he offers to save us from the sins.... Am I right?

LOL You don't know that Jesus has been alive also even in how many years is that, still considered hes been lived to. If you said it regards to the Bible can you give me the Verse that No more No less. About this Jesus is not the reason why we are here breathing

You're the first to say that he is the reason why we are breathin, so why not present your source. If you can't then I don't even need to give the verse, as I didn't actually read the bible in the first place.

That answer is always as cumbersome as that, if you name someone, it turns out to be the egg for the one who contradicts him, because the one who says no, for him and his convictions, his candidate is the hen. But what does it matter? Fortunately we are talking about people.

Of your options Larry Page  for being Google what we all know, but even so and with all its power we are currently living in an era where individualities will be surpassed by corporations sometimes directed by various individuals not known in colloquial circles like ours. (These corporations include politicians)

Oh my, where is he?

To determine the "MOST IMPORTANT PERSON ALIVE" we must follow a certain criteria to do so:
(This is what I think some of the criteria)
1. If he/she dies, will the world be shaken by his/her death?
2. Is he/she in a state where all of his/her movements are under close surveillance of different agencies in every nations?
3. Can he/she influence more than 2/3 of the world's population?
4. Will his/her death cause war, or any event with same degree?

And I don't think any of the list has the quality to have 3/4 of whats in the list.

Well i would approach this on how much impact to the world would it be if any of them died. After that you see that most of them would be replaceable. But for example replacing Biden could have huge political impact.

Then again there are ton of people doing important work behind the scenes, not all of them are famous and because they are not CEOs, some of them could be scientists for example. They wouldn't need to worry about company pr, and as they don't necessarily want fame and want to stay off the radar.

Biden is probably the most important person who is almost alive. The election of such an incompetent and senile person illustrates the extent of the hijacking of the election process, and the control that the ruling dynasties have over the modern world.

I notice that nobody has mentioned anyone from these dynasties. The British Crown, the Rothschilds, The Vatican and other dynasties could shut down minor players like Elon Musk, Bill Gates and the like if they wanted to.

I'd say Xi Jinping. US presidents don't have the same level of influence within their own nation as Xi does in China, and are limited to (at most) 8 years in charge. Xi's term doesn't end until he does.

I don't think Elon Musk is very important. He's certainly wealthy and successful, but he wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list.

We need to get more carbon into the atmosphere to help plants grow stronger when they breathe it in.

It always has to be the guy with the most nukes who has political power over a large country, so whoever the US President is at the time.

Reason I wouldn't say Russia's President is because their economy is too small to afford war, so they won't participate in international affairs. China's leadership could also take the spot, but they seem less aggressive than Russia, yes, even after their aggression towards Hong Kong and Taiwan. If you consider their aggression in the South China Sea then they may beat out Russians, but my order goes Presidents of 1.) US 2.) Russia 3.) China.

Interesting question, a year ago I would have probably said Elon Musk, but now I am not sure anymore. He did much for Space engineering, so far it remains unknown if he will actually succeed in bringing people to Mars. 20 years ago this would have probably been Bill Gates. Only question I have is why is there Mario Draghi on your list, don't really understand why the Italian prime minister should the most important person alive. I think it's important to remember that nobody is irreplaceable.  However, that being said, given the extreme amount of money held and his desire to make mankind a multiplanetary species while also switching us from gasoline powered internal combustion engines to electric cars, it seems like Elon Musk would certainly win the MVP for mankind this year if such a thing were to exist currently.

You can always argue that the President of the US is the most important person alive given the power he wields, but I think at this point we all know that position is more easily replaceable than most of us are at our day jobs.

I added most of the customary people.

Plus Ben Bernanke (he saved the world economy in 2008-2009, with his expansive monetary policy), Mario Draghi (he saved the euro and the EU, with his monetary police and famous speech), Shinya Yamanaka (work on malaria saved millions of people) and Tu Youyou (stem cells: Nobel 2012).

I'll add more people based on good argumentation or three votes.

I'm not going to be neutral. I voted for Elon Musk.

I have posted some text critical of Elon Musk's plans for the colonization of Mars.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/spacex-and-the-prospects-of-mars-colonization-1741917
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-dimensions-of-spacexs-starship-1-and-2-and-mars-colonization-5188448

But I left clear that what he is doing with SpaceX is very important and I'm following his achievements with interest and applause.

I have little doubt that Musk is currently the most important person alive.

Not because (according with some calculations) he is currently the richest person alive.

Not because of what he is doing with SpaceX. I doubt SpaceX will change the life of many people in the next 20 years. Read the above posts.

Currently, the main reason for my vote is what he achieved with Tesla.

No, it's not because Tesla it self. Tesla doesn't sell enough cars to make a big change on it self.

Musk main achievement with Tesla was to force all the other major companies to start creating and selling electric cars. This will make a dent on carbon emissions, since global warming is our main threat.

This won't be enough to save us from trouble. Far from it. But it's a start.

Another major action from Musk was his promise to pay a big reward to any developer of a cost effective way to capture carbon from the atmosphere.

Basically, currently, this technology is the only one that can save us from the serious consequences of global warming.

It's more than clear that we are not going to be able to reduce substantially carbon emissions and we are in serious trouble.

A few countries will meet their promises targets. Mainly the demographically decadents, like the Europeans, Japan, Korea.

For the same reason, perhaps, also Russia, even if they don't seem to be very concerned with the problem.

In due time, maybe also the Chinese. They are in the same boat of the demographically decadents, about to starting to lose population.

But forget about India and specially the Africans countries. They are still increasing their populations. The second ones by a lot. Their emissions are going to explode.

We are basically in serious trouble. Unless we start capturing carbon from the atmosphere faster than we are emitting it.

But we have to start now spending a lot building better systems, because the current ones are a disaster: costly and slow.

Again Musk initiative might have an important impact, since our bright governments are still blind to the need for serious investments in this area.

His Neuralink might also change the world, because of the risks of AI: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/poll-is-the-creation-of-artificial-superinteligence-dangerous-1538764
