may anyone tell me how to calculate daily estimated earning for an scrypt altcoin per mhs
lets talk about
usde

Block Time               60 seconds
Block Reward           4,000.00 coins
Difficulty                  6.25
Hashing Speed         1 mhs
Exchange Rate         0.00000055 btc

http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/usde-mining-calculator

{24/(6.25*2^32/(1*10^6)/3600)*4000}*(5.5*10^-7) = 0.007081

where do you type block time to exactly?

I could be wrong but you are pretty well screwed cause of the juice cost. Have you looked at Myriad? I think that would be your only hope for the 290. You can check out difficulty here:
http://myriad.theblockexplorer.com/
and then see if you can make a profit

Best thing you could do would be to pay close attention to new coins coming out and try to get in early on mining something before it blows up.

OR

Like you said, probably better just to buy and hold (but thats no fun is it?
I'm really digging groestl mining because it doesn't heat up my graphics card as much and uses twice less electricity

btw, how do I read the block explorer?

Coins/Scrypt MH:
1316.893103598

those units make no sense, is that per day or what?

Code:
24/(difficulty*2^32/(HashInMega*10^6)/3600)*BlockReward
is the formula. 1MH/s = 3 R9 280X.

That's right, these three 280X will do 2.2MH/s in scrypt and will make 0.4-0.5 BTC per month. So it does appear that EXE is comparable to or better than regular scrypt, but not by a lot.

For Scrypt-N, I heard that EXECoin and GPUCoin are the more profitable ones. For CPU, heard that you can make 0.1BTC/month mining MemoryCoin with a 4770K.

No, MemoryCoin is not profitable at all for CPU mining. A 4770K will make maybe $17 per month, barely covers electricity cost. HeavyCoin might be something to keep an eye on, but it still makes only about $1 per day on a 4771/4770 at the current exchange rates.
I heard that some time ago so I'm sure things have changed.

EXECoin - {720/(7.9*2^32/(1*10^6)/3600)*50}*(1.3*10^-4) = 0.4965

GPUCoin - {720/(7.2*2^32/(1*10^6)/3600)*2000}*(3*10^-6) = 0.5029

This shows that both EXE and GPU coin make 0.5BTC/MH/Month.

I have no idea if your formulas are correct, but keep in mind that scrypt-n hashrates are about half of regular scrypt rates on the same hardware. In other words, if you can make 0.25 BTC per month per MH/s doing scrypt (~0.008 per day), then scrypt-n is not more profitable.

Code:
24/(difficulty*2^32/(HashInMega*10^6)/3600)*BlockReward
is the formula. 1MH/s = 3 R9 280X.

With my high marginal electricity costs (0.35/kwh) it's not worth mining scrypt even using hopping pools. I actually just break even which means I should just buy cryptocurrency directly.

1. Is there something I can use my R9 290 on? Like some kind of an algorithm like scrypt-jane or scrypt-n that is more profitable but doesn't have FPGAs?
2. Is there something I can use my i-4770K on? It has to be profitable for the amount of watts I put in, since my electricity is expensive.
