"BOINC wastes cpu cycles out of altruism and for science"

Care to elaborate? How exactly is BOINC wasting cpu cycles given the breakthroughs that have been made over the last few years as a direct result of BOINC computing?

One of the most popular and profitable coin to mine right now is Monero.
Clearly, but how does it compare to Myriad? Or Gridcoin BOINC mining for that matter?

BOINC wastes cpu cycles out of altruism and for science, Gridcoin never really changed that besides trying.

well, since the dificult is increasing i dont know for how much time it will be good, but right now verium is pretty good(believe or not, better than ETH). you should give it a try.

I know that Verium is good but it is not better than ETH in my opinion.

Eth for CPU mining??
I think HODL, if you have patientce to solo mining or if you can trust pool (one year TD)

yeah but sadly the value is fucked lol, it was 8k satoshi now only 1k, i think it will die before you can get anything out of it, better to do folding or gpu mining

nicehash points me out to CryptoNight

CryptoNight can only be CPU-mined for the time being. CryptoNight was originally implemented in the CryptoNote codebase.

I'm guessing it's Myriadcoin (yescrypt algo), but I could be wrong. Any CPU miners who can compare it to other coins? Which coin gets you the most BTC?

I dont know about Myriadcoin but I'm currently mining HODL. There is a mining calculator here
http://samuelpj.github.io/hodl-mining-calc/

But this is just payment without interest. HODL is locked for 12 months and pays 1000% interest. So, assuming price is stable your earnings will be much higher when HODLs mature.
Buying HODL seems better option than CPU mining as reward is quite low for the cost of running laptop whole day and night. Same goes for most of the CPU mining coins. Monero seem to be quite a clear winner over CPU minable coins with great usability as well as high marketcap.

Monero use a better algorithm for cpu mining and has usable value.

Ok. Care to explain how Monero's algorithm is 'better' than yescrypt?

i think he mean the anonymous part is better if yescrypt is nt anonymous, i think the best cpu coin was esper or magi or hodl back then now you can try monero with a bot net, there is nothing else
