I was under the impression it was the Chinese currency, not only for bitcoin but also litecoin, and probably for a bunch of other altcoins also.

I don't really know how to truly gauge these claims. Whilst face value China does have the largest trading volume, we can't be sure how much of the volume is just the exchange wash trading. We have already heard from cpzhao regarding the less than impressionable practices going on over at OkCasino (OKCoin) and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it were the same in every exchange in China.

In terms of trade as a result of a well rounded eco-system, I think the USD has the win by far. You will be hard pressed to find the same kind of Bitcoin adoption from merchants and services anywhere in China, but it is growing rapidly in the west.

What about okcoin?  Are you saying they make fake volume on their exchange?  I didnt see what cpzhao said, if you have a link I would appreciate it Smiley

This is cpzhaos' statement which was issued surrounding the dispute between okcoin and roger ver over bitcoin.com

Interestingly, most of this was speculated to be happening way before. Didn't come at a surprise to me when someone on the inside confirms this.

American dollar would be the most traded currency for Bitcoin, because it is used by a very big group of people and also, many people that do not leave in the United States of America that buy bitcoins work for american people or companies and are paid in dollars Smiley
I didn't expected that the Chinese yen was the most traded currency for bitcoin.

Most traded curency for BTC is USD. It is easy to understand - if you look in this forum, for example  Grin
i don't agree with you and strongly feel that Chinese Yunnan is the most traded currency for Bitcoin.
As most of the mining power is with Chinese and most of the market is also in control of them.

From the website we know the most traded currency are Chinese Yuan, the second is Dollar, the third is Euro! Coz the largest hashing power is coming from Chinese, the ppl there are fascinating trading bitcoin!
They are doing which is profitable for them as they mine coins,  accumulate them and create a hyper inflation and sell those coins at manipulated prices.

Although it's limited to the data of exchanges, I think it could show the Bitcoin-enthusiastic countries among the global markets. How do you think about?
As far as I know Bitfinex does not support btc/eur orderbook but only support btc/usd. Bitfinex provide us Btc/usd ticker data via its public interface. Therefore, I think your story is right currently.

Move On !!!!!!
I also think that the most traded currency is Chinese Yuan. China is a huge Bitcoin market. On the other side, yes we are all used to looking at BTC price in USD, even us, folks from Europe. To me it's just weird to look the worth in Euros.

As most people who mine the bitcoin are Chinese so according to my opinion the most traded currency for Bitcoin is Chinese Yunnan.
