Gone phishing...

In short, it's difficult to predict if any PCIe "splitter" will work with your hardware, unless someone else has used an identical splitter with your motherboard. You might get use of all the slots physically available, you might get some, or you might get none.

I'd also like to add that the rumor that Nvidia GPUs don't work with any of these devices is largely unfounded. Perhaps there are some units that cause problems with Nvidia GPUs, but I have one that works fine with them.

Buy from a reputable seller with a good return policy.

ASUS H81M-PLUS. have multiple rigs running with this board and a 4x splitter

This is an 1150 board,  finding a reasonably priced 1150 processor seems impossible.  Plus I'd rather use 1 splitter, not multiples.

Buy from them before you do what you are about to do.  or just make a 4 card rig.  It will be cheaper at the end with all the grief.  It's funny how people step over a dollar to get a dime.

So are you saying the 1 to 4 pcie adapters won't work?  it seems people use them, I just need to know a board that will work.

so all that extra crap you will buy cost more than just a 8 slot board.  and is less reliable, where the hell is the logic in that?  lol

um no.  There are no 8 slot boards currently available anywhere.  120 or so for a board and 30 for a 1 to 4 adapter is a heck of alot cheaper than 200 plus from ebay stealers.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me an 1151 board that works with 1 to 4 pcie adapters and an adapter that is known to work?  Trying to build a rig and all of the 8 gpu motherboards are out of stock or stupidly expensive so was thinking I could get a more normal board and use a 1 to 4 adapter to create an 8 gpu board.  Is it feasible to do this for reliable operation?
