I didn't take it as such, I interpreted it as asking a question, so I figured I'd respond to at least half of it. As hilariousandco said, odd things are happening with email notifications as of late, so I'm not sure how to explain the lack of other notifications. For others wondering what the best way to be 100% certain what happened to your threads, go to your profile, and click show posts. There you will see if your threads ended up in the trash can, moved elsewhere, etc. That is, if a redirect topic wasn't posted.

No worries, I am not trying to bust your chops really.

It is just the first time I have seen it happen like this, usually there is some clue for the user.  He was not trolling or anything and *poof* gone.

I'm not sure what happened with the post notifications, but when a moderator moves a thread, they have the option to leave the post moved stub, or to just move it. More often than not, I dont leave the stubs behind, as they just clutter the front pages until they dissapear, in which case it doesn't matter if they existed in the first place, as no one is going searching through more than a couple pages looking for a thread. I think most people would just check their recent posts to see where the thread is.

\You can find it in your watchlist if you have replied.

That is the thing, I can't, it is not there.

Thats odd, I always had the impression they would still show. I might be wrong though, I watch several boards so the posts that get moved into them are on my watch list automatically.

I am just trying to say it is probably not the best way of going about it.

I also prefer if a post is left behind, some mods even add a message to it, but it also causes clutter.

It'll still be there under 'show new replies to posts' so you can find it that way. Email notifications are getting blocked by certain providers like hotmail (I believe they stopped on the 17th of feb for me).

Tested and I am still getting notifications.  And yes, there are probably a couple of ways a savvy user can find it.

For the poor new guy (like this one) it is totaly gone.  I am just trying to say it is probably not the best way of going about it.

That is the thing, I can't, it is not there.  Even the email notifications have stopped.

From anyone's point of view (including the user that asked the question) the thread has just disappeared.  Unless he had it open in a window and hit refresh like I did it is gone.

Hi Guys,

I was talking to a guy about wallet choices, he had posted in general.  Probably not the place for it so an admin moved it to Technical Support.

Instead of leaving the normal "Post Moved" stub with a link it seems to have just disappeared totally from one place and appeared in another.  To make things worse, there are no email notifications past the point that it was moved so that the guy can reconnect with his questions.

Has something changed?  If this is the new behaviour of moving threads it might need looking at.

The mod moving the thread can deceide whether to leave a post or not. You can find it in your watchlist if you have replied.
