The Purity of Vengeance (2018)

The last in the "Department Q" series about 2 detectives trying to solve old cases. In this one, deaths in 2006 are somehow all connected to the same institution where they experimented on young girls.
Classic scandinavian  thriller, probably best one in the series. If you like this type of movies with murder investigation and a bit of mystery, you will like this one too.

Observe and Report (2009)

Seth Rogen in a role of security guard that is trying to catch a  flasher

This plot may remind you of Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) with Kevin James, but this is something much better, and darker.
Politically incorrect dark comedy (feminists hated it) , with Seth Rogen in untypical role as bi-polar, delusional , violent and not very likeable security guard.

I liked this a lot, and I recommend it to everyone  that is not easily offended and doesn't like cliche comedies.

Maybe i missed it, but i haven't seen active movie related thread, so here is another try.

I am sure that many of enjoy watching movies so here you can write a short review about movies you recently saw, ask for recommendation or talk in general about movies, actors/actresses, directors, cinematographers etc.

Thread will be self moderated to keep it free from spammers ,trolls and other redundant posts.Any constructive criticism and suggestion is welcomed!

When you are writing a short review, please post link to IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes or other similar webpage where we can see some basic info about the movie.

So let's get started, this is what i watched yesterday Smiley

Parasite (2019)
'All unemployed, Ki-taek's family takes peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks for their livelihood until they get entangled in an unexpected incident.'

Latest Joon Ho Bong movie where he again tackles society and the modern issues. This time again, like in excellent Snowpiercer (2013) he deals with classes and inequality , but this team story is set in modern South Korea. Here we have combination of genres, atmosphere in the movies changes as the time passes, but there is strong satire throughout the movie and bunch of metaphors and this combination works surprisingly well.At the  moments it can get a bit over dramatic, but that is standard thing for South Korean movies really so i didn't mind it at all.All in all it is quality movie that is worth watching, but still his best movie to date stays Memories of Murder (2003), modern masterpiece.

Once again Joon Ho Bong proves to be among the best South Korean directors, with Chan-wook Park and Ki-duk Kim.

On a side note, for this he won Palme d'Or at Cannes ahead of Quentin Tarantino and his Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood (2019)  and most likely will be Oscar nominated for best non English speaking movie.
