Naked (UK, 1993)

Into the Wild (USA, 2007)

The Big Lebowski (USA, 1998)

There are very different movies each other but really change your way to think and worth your time. You probably know second and third but Naked is a great movie as well.

I've watched that "into the wild movie" and indeed I've learned to share and chat with my brother asn sisters that I've haven't met for years. I reach out to them eventually.
One line that i kept sharing to advice friends is the "real happiness can only be real if shared"

So far, i have not encountered a movie that has changed my life. However, one movie that really changed my perspective was Avatar. Don't laugh, but it is really a perfect metaphor for how we took over North America and stole it from the Native Americans who were previously living here.

Hm. Kinda hard to think of a movie that I can say "changed my life" but maybe 127 Hours is a movie that shook me off mainly because its a true story and it showed me how a bad step in your life can screw things up.

Aliens and Star Wars. Both of them opened my mind to the world of science fiction that I had no idea existed. It was like drugs to me.
Good Will Hunting. I learned about myself through others in that one.
Jurassic Park 1. It just simply blew my mind that the dinosaurs I always dreamed about could come to life on a full screen.
Clerks. Finally a movie that spoke to my generation.

There are a lots of movies that really change my life, but if I have to decide which will be on the top, then Matrix will win the prize! Smiley

This movie is full with quotes and symbols that I would like to share here:

- In the first part of the movie, the scene where Morpheus talk with Neo for the first time, the next scene is when someone is knocking on the door. When Neo open the door he will notice the White Rabbit tattoo on the girl's shoulder or the wormhole where he will enter after he swallow the red pill. The second detail is when Morpheus shows Neo what is The Matrix or what is The Material World, where you can see but you can't really feel that. The third detail is when he shows the name of the ship. Do you remember what was written before the name? It's written: MARK 3, No. 11 - Gospel of Mark, chapter 3, verse 11! - According to that verse in the Bible, Neo is a metaphor of Christ consciousness. The fourth detail is when Neo goes to the Oracle... She told him: Being The One is like your in love! Did he believe in that? The fifth detail, who is Trinity or should I ask what is behind the name? = The Holy Trinity; The Symbol of Love! Did they fall in love each other? The sixth detail is agent Smith. The superhuman robot, who want to enter in Zion and destroy the city. Seventh detail, the name of the city: Zion or as you can see in the Old Testament, Zion is the Holy Mountain or Holy City!

- In the second part, after a lot of fight in the movie, Neo finally enter in the building and meet the Architect of the Matrix. Do you remember what he told to Neo in that conversation..? That hi is the sixth version of The One who enter in this room, but unlike the others he is different, and you know why? Because he fell in love and he can fell that for the first time. That's why he save Trinity and Zion in the same time!

- In the third part, is the final battle! Agent Smith try to enter Zion and become like them, Enlightened! But Neo and Trinity sacrifice their lives to destroy The Humans/Machines World, end the war and restore the balance on earth!

Did someone ever think about this? Smiley

At the risk of honestly depicting myself as naïve back in the day, I'd say it has to be the first movie I ever saw at a theater - Ode to Billy Joe. I viewed it with my girlfriend (later my [first] wife) in the summer of '76 in Spartanburg, SC. The sex scenes in the barn stalls freaked me out because I hadn't a clue as to what the fuck they were doing, let alone as to why, and what the hell such scene had to do with the rest of the movie, of which I equally was having trouble comprehending. All I knew is that I somewhat enjoyed the song when it played on the radio. Upon watching the movie, I sincerely thought that all movies shown at theaters were of the same nature, nothing like the movies shown on TV, later realizing that many of those were once shown in movie houses when first released.

Ironically, in the late 80's when I used to host Writers Night in Nashville, TN, I had the pleasure of having Bobbie Gentry as my special quest, she, of course, being the renown singer of Ode to Billy Joe. A week (maybe it was two) earlier, I had Jeannie C. Riley (Harper Valley PTA) as my special guest. Back to Bobbie, I relaid to her the story above, whereupon she comforted me (no longer needing any comfort since I was a dog) in saying that we all were naïve when younger (paraphrased).
