Just clarifying with the experts.

To transfer a BTC from Coinbase to Bittrex, I'll use (the Bittrex steps are already done) the following steps:

1) In Bittrex, after I logged in, I clicked on + under Wallets.

2)There was a button New Address. I clicked on it. Now the Address box on the top has an address which is not editable.

3) In Coinbase, Under Send Funds, under Amount, I type in 1.00.

4) In Coinbase, Under Recipient, I write the address generated by Bittrex.

5) I'll then click Send Funds.

Questions:

1) Please verify that the steps above are correct.

2) With the Network fee, my Total becomes 1.00049612 BTC on Coinbase. I have only 1 BTC in my account. How do I pay the Network fee?

Thanks to anyone who responds.

goo38, thank you for response. Three more questions:

1) Any idea as to how long the transfer from Coinbase to Bittrex might take?

2) I would like to buy other coins with this bitcoin immediately. Bittrex says that it might take up to two weeks. Has anybody experienced this?

3) I got an email today saying this:
"
The User Activated Hard Fork (UAHF) is a proposal to increase the Bitcoin block size scheduled to activate on August 1. The UAHF is incompatible with the current Bitcoin ruleset and will create a separate blockchain. Should UAHF activate on August 1, Coinbase will not support the new blockchain or its associated coin.
The User Activated Soft Fork (UASF) is a proposal to adopt Segregated Witness on the Bitcoin blockchain and could result in network instability. It is scheduled to activate at the same time as the UAHF.
"

a) Can anybody tell me how it'll affect my transfer of bitcoin from Coinbase to Bittrex?
b) How it might affect my purchase of other coins using the bitcoin on Bittrex?

I really appreciate anyone who responds.

1) You are not purchasing bitcoin in Bittrex so I don't think the 2 week timeline is relevant to you, I believe this timeframe is regarding verification of your account, you are able to deposit and trade with an unverified account, but if you want to withdraw a large amount then you will need to follow the Bittrex verification process.

For now if you are just sending your 1 BTC to Bittrex all you need is your Bittrex BTC address and you will be able to send from Coinbase to Bittrex.

It shouldn't take too long no more then a few hours max but it should get there quicker, once you send it from Coinbase after a few minutes you should be able to see a transaction Id, if you take this ID and place it in https://blockchain.info/ you will be able to see how many confirmations it has, Bittrex requires 2 confirmations for it to hit your account.

2) I think this must relate to being verified and purchasing bitcoin directly via Bittrex, you should not face any time delays in purchasing other coins once your bitcoin enters your Bittrex wallet

3)
a) if you are sending your bitcoin to Bittrex now you will not face any problems
b) purchasing of other coins will not be affected.

Hope that helps.

It depends. Probably can take a few hours before you see your funds into your Bittrex account. You can follow it in blockchain.info to see if your transaction has been confirmed. Just need patience mate.

2) I would like to buy other coins with this bitcoin immediately. Bittrex says that it might take up to two weeks. Has anybody experienced this?

Well, if they say two weeks, then you have to wait for two weeks then. Go try to take to their support if anything can be done to expedite your request.

There is a looming hard fork that is scheduled on Aug 1. They are advising you that they are not supporting if there is a coin split.

If you done your transfer prior to Aug 1 then you will not have a problem. The issue is that you don't have control of your bitcoin in Bittrex because you don't have your private keys. I suggest you read  this.

To help you prepare if there if ever a split will going to happen.

Sign into Bittrex.
Go to Wallets at the top right.
In the list of Wallets find Bitcoin and click the blue plus + button.
A deposit window will appear, it will either have an address or the option to generate an address.
Send your BTC to that deposit address from Coinbase.
