Thanks guys. Looks like ill use my vanity address as a hot wallet and a ledger for proper storage. Just getting fed up with inconsistencies with apps not showing balances correctly and me panicking I've lost all my crypto lol

if you are referring to the addresses generated by the blockchain wallet then you can recover your wallet using the seed on the Ledger device.
Doing so will however nullify all increased security from using a hardware wallet.

This is due to the fact that HW are secure because they generate your keys in a secure enviroment. As your vanity addresses where insecurely generated, there are already considered exposed.

The best thing to do is to keep move funds from your vanity addresses to your HW from time to time.

Running your own full client solves that.

Ill have to take a look into that. Cheers.

Is there a way to move the address from my blockchain wallet to a ledger nano so I don’t lose the address (vanity address)?

If you are referring to an address which you generated on your own and then imported it to your blockchain wallet then the answer is no. You cannot import individual private keys into hardware wallets. However, if you are referring to the addresses generated by the blockchain wallet then you can recover your wallet using the seed on the Ledger device.

Thanks for the reply, even though I've been mining for years I’ve never delved into hardware wallets so a bit out of my depth. Yes i was referring to an address I generated myself so it looks like I will have to make do with the address the hardware wallet gives me and just use my vanity address as an intermediary.

Again, thanks for the reply  Smiley

No. Hardware wallets mostly do not support importing addresses as it would make recovery of a wallet more complicated due to the fact that it uses HD generation primarily.

Moving the address to a desktop wallet would be more suitable though. The address is already insecure given the fact that it is already exposed to an online service. I would recommend you to just use the vanity address as a hot wallet and send the incoming funds to the walley generated on your Ledger instead.

Hi everyone,

I don’t frequent this section often but thought it the best area for this particular question. I have a blockchain wallet with a couple of my addresses in. One of which I use for my main “traffic” of transactions. Is there a way to move the address from my blockchain wallet to a ledger nano so I don’t lose the address (vanity address)?

Thanks.
