the new gigabyte 7950's can get 650 khash at full bore. That model is voltage locked though.. so it isnt nearly as good for the miner wanting to get say 570 khash with a lot less power usage.

I have 10 of the new Gigabyte 7950s and even with 1.25v most I can get out of them is 575KH  Sad

You're doing it wrong!

I just bought one and can get 640, cranked up. But, it's not dedicated mining so I keep it lower at around 600

Just where exactly would you sell them for $275?

I bought my two 6870s for $250 about 7 months ago.
Craigslist?

Isn't the going price about $100 each?  =S  If you can flip them for that price, do it!

I bought my sapphire extreme 5830 new for $110 a couple years ago, I imagine I could sell it used for the same amt right now

I'm in Pennsylvania and local miners seem to be snatching up all radeon 5xxx+ cards for almost any price on local Craigslist - I paid $250 about a month ago for the pair and they paid for themselves in 3 weeks due to the great timing for LTC difficulty vs worth.

I've currently got a pair of XFX6870s that I'm finding can only hash at about 500khs (Litecoin obvi) now that the ambient temps are rising due to the season change.

I'm pretty confident I can sell the pair for about $275 and am considering doing so in favor of a single 7950 - which would cost me another $40 or so on top of the $275 I get from the pair of XFX cards.  Does this seem like a good idea?

Anyone got stats on heat and wattage for a maxed out 7950 doing scrypt?  Anyone got advice for which particular 7950 to get thats in stock at newegg.com right now?

Thanks!
