Sure, people understand that it is a fake. Russia is indeed a very aggressive country, but it is weak. It has no power to any of the members of NATO attack. As for weapons it does not hurt. Let them buy.
The only country which is capable of standing up to Russia is the United States. But scandals such as the F-35 program have drained funds from the American defense sector, and weakened it. The past 7-8 years had been disastrous for the USAF. Even if Russia attacks any of the Baltic nations or Ukraine, the US is likely to stay away from interference.
The US still has far more allies when compared to either China or Russia. And more importantly, these allies are spread throughout the globe. For example, the US allies include the GCC nations (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait.etc) in the Middle East, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan in East Asia, Pakistan in South Asia, Philippines in South-east Asia, Australia and NZL in Oceania, Canada and Colombia in the Americas, UK and Germany in Europe and Nigeria and Kenya in Africa.
