It's always best to go to a forum that centres around the issue at hand so this will be the best place to ask and search - https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgoxinsolvency/

[email protected] appears to be the place to contact regarding this but have a look around the above forum too. Include your creditor numbers if you have them.

But did you send proof that you had a balance when it was hacked? It is a very large process where many people would have difficulty proving that they owned the accounts with some balance. But I thought that this phase had already passed and everyone who could receive something, would have already proved the balance that had the time.

No you can't send anything, just fill the claim document and that's it.
You just declare what you have lost, but you can't send proof !!!!
I have screenshots with my balance that I want to send, but there's no way !!!
Have I missed something ?

Thx

They prolly would need some documents proving your ownership of the coins, otherwise text conversation wouldn't prove anything but rather a wasted effort. Also, AFAIK they wouldn't be reimbursing the whole amount in BTC but rather in USD (or so I've heard) so at best, people would be receiving their money in bank deposits.

MtGox has entered civil rehabilitation, not bankruptcy.
So, by Japanese law, the assets will not be converted but returned to the owners as long as the claimed asset have been recovered.

Op, there is one topic where people that lost coins in MtGox still post, and  a reddit  dedicated to it, maybe someone there can help you.

Try to look up whether you have some screenshots of your balance on Gox. That could save you, somehow.

Normally people don't store proof of how many bitcoins they hold on an exchange but this is a wakeup call. Places like coinbase should offer weekly statements as proof of funds to individual accounts

I agree. Not everyone takes a screencap of their balances so a regular account overview/statement sent through email is really, really nice.

Hello everybody,

It seems that 1/4 of claims have been rejected, and I'm in this case because my balance was at 0.
But I had several BTC when GOX hacked/shut down.

Does anybody in the same case than me ?
What can we do then ?

Thx

I have seen many users are facing the same issue that you have stated. Probably this happened because of mismanagement of Mt. Gox officials while compiling the users details. If they already approved 3/4 claims then i don't think so they will reject rest of the 1/4 valid claims.

I wasn't around when MT GOX was hacked, I heard that there were millions of cryptocurrency that were hacked by a flaw into their system. I assumed that those 1/4 who got rejected were trying to actually get some fake claim. I guess if you could provide a solid proof that you were part of its trader back then or if you can convince whoever was investigating for the claims then you can reclaim all your lost cryptocurrency.
