There have been problems with Mt. Gox for quite some time now. I'm surprised they're still standing.

I concede your point because I am "civilized", and hate you for it because I am a guy.

notice how everyone talks about the weather alot just before a big storm (for example sandy). Just saying....

actually people talk a lot more about weather when it's happening (wow it's so rainy today) or after (that was an incredible storm)

fuck all people talk about it before it happens.

It was the wild west and now reality has set in. I bought my first server about 15 years ago and paid with visa and had to send a scan of my driver's licence. Any affiliate program that paid me over $1000 insisted on the same. Once you bring any other currency into play and are dealing with more than hundreds of dollars businesses need to know who they are dealing with and more.

mtgox are a shambles but you should either put up, start your own exchange, or shut up imho.

If you deal purely in bitcoin then you don't need id, it's only when you want to involve fiat that id becomes an issue.*

*selling 5btc for cash and the buying more btc and trying to cash them out still involves dollars.

If people don't know what to say in the bitcoin world they talk about how mt gox sucks. It's like our weather-talk. Clearly they won't fail, was it $5M that was seized? There is no way they couldn't raise that in a week, it's about a seed round for an unproven start-up in silicon valley.
